The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

Most definitely in my top 50 of all time. Kept me watching until the end to see if everything would work out.

I am so excited, finally getting some good shows this coming winter season!! There are others but I am most excited for these!

**EDIT

I just completed Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, it was okay more of a love story mixed with a little bit of a horror story (which felt more like a predictable suspense plot). Never the less worth a watch if you are feeling in the mood, some how came across it from checking out a "Similiar to Bakemonogatari" search option in My Anime List.

Book Of Circus

P4 Golden

Tokyo ESP

Tokyo Ghoul

Hanamonogatari features Suruga Kanbaru and is set after Koyomi Araragi graduates from high school.

Not checking out Aldnoah.Zero or Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen? I thought mecha series made it onto your watchlist by default :p

I haven't really finished compiling my list of must-watches just yet, but so far:

Sword Art Online - Phantom Bullet
Sailor Moon Crystal
fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei
Tokyo Ghoul
Glasslip
Monogatari ~ of course

Black Butler ... maybe ... but I would need to rewatch S1 and 2, because I cannot for the life of me remember anything that happened in that series.

You know me! Mecha is there by default, just excited by the other shows.

Black Butler, errr what ever did happen in that show? The story was a bit vague at certain points.

Monogatari, that is my have to watch no matter what.

That's the thing - the first season aired something like 5 or 6 years ago or something - and I don't think I ever got around to watching the second. So I don't have a clue. So ... I might not actually watch it as it airs - rather rewatch S1 and 2, and the catch up with the current one later.

From what I can recall, there was never a clear path that the story was following, specifics where given and characters were introduced for the story to progress but it felt like they had run out of ideas or manga.

Could have just been my younger mind? I find myself enjoying different things than what I did.

***EDIT
Now that I am actually at my PC and not using my phone: Black Butler is a good show it was just a little too vague in the details department of why Ciel Phantomhive had made a contract with his butler, whom was a demon. It is not revealed very well (from what I could have seen). So the story left a little more to be desired. Perhaps the new season will fix all the wrongs or just pick up where season 2 left off and manage to bring some clarification to it all.

Apparently the Magi manga is still on going, hence why it had a crap ending.

You just know 1 out of those 4 is going to be No Game No Life ;)

Of course. It's sitting in second place at the moment (sadly) because for the majority of the locals series like Naruto, Fairy Tail (leading) and Dragonball are what anime is ... *sigh*

I lose hope for the local fandom sometimes.

That being said, people actually added Naruto, and Dragonball, and Hunter x Hunter to the poll ...

HxH is not so bad, it's actually a really great shonen show, it is a helluva lot better than Bleach, Naruto and One Piece. I prefer to to compare it to Yu Yu Hakusho than anything else but not many people know of it so I am left hanging trying to explain it to them.

I don't have a problem with any of those shows per se (well ... apart from hating Naruto, Bleach and DBZ with a passion) - but the poll was for Spring 2014 shows ... which none of those qualify as even if they are currently airing.

Anyhow ... I'm thinking about building my own system to use for voting, because I don't really have any way of stopping people from voting more than once at the moment. And then I can also make it look a bit more appealing.

Problem being I haven't built a website from scratch since 2007 ... so I'm a little out of practice :/

Be sure to post the results it will be interesting to see them - not that the predictable results will surprise us.

Also, having finished No Game No Life. I Believe it not to be the best show ever, while I have massive amounts of respect for MADHOUSE I will give credit to the animation and use of colour, everything else is the manga's going just placed into a animated medium which can be a challenge but they seemed to have done quite well.
Since the show was based on gaming here's screencaps of of all the references in the show (that I could find). Due to limitation I can only display 6 images at a time (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)

Persona, Steins;Gate, Akiba's Trip.

You missed the Hyouka reference. But I believe you haven't seen that one yet, so I'll forgive you :p

But yeah, it's far from the best series out there, but it was by far the most entertaining series I watched this season. And if I had to give shows ratings, entertainment value would carry the heaviest weight.

Apparently there are quite a few in the show but some are so subtle or so common in animation that they are easily overlooked.

I think people are calling it "ICHIBAN" because it has been something different from the slower(?) shows we had last season,
*edit
Hyouka looks interesting, think I will give it a watch.

I'm sad because no-one has licensed it :(

Or Dog Days T_T

And I loved Hyouka.....

Found it hard to get into, the initial starter plot did not pull me in but once it starts with the better mysteries I find myself watching it over what ever else have.

Calling it now, FREE is the show of 2014 Man Service ftw /jk. Bakumatsu seems 'colourful' will see how it pans out.
