Pretty much. We came to a nice compromise with Tinman back in the day. We could use profanity, as long as nobody used it to attack or offend each other. That rule has worked well so far.
I just don't understand of what use a blanket ban on profanity is supposed to be. MyBB has a blanket ban on swearing and it didn't exactly do wonders for their community. I guess I've just never understood what the problem with swearing is in the first place. Do people really get offended by random words? "That fucking deer just jumped in front of the car and now I'm dead." Offended yet?

Personally I don't mind swearing at all, as long it is within reason. I think if the new management want to change the rules, they should make a formal announcement about it and maybe allow the members to debate it a bit.
I must admit that I found Kevin's edit hilarious, though. Excellent understatement.
