Unreal tournament 4 pre-alpha builds - Play and test for free

I don't think I quite understand this properly. When I try to play, it just crashes and says Unreal Engine Has Stopped Working.

As far as I understand, I need UE4 installed to play and for that I need to pay $20 a month. Or am I missing something?

I just downloaded the package and installed it and it worked.

Protip! If it is less than 15 seconds upload it to GfyCat, then it will compress it to HTML 5 video which saves a ton of bandwidth.

I just Fraps it and convert it on my PC, that's like 1 Meg+ that webm

Ill try re-compile it and see if i can get a server up. However can only do this perhaps next weekend.

For UE4 subscribers who would like to compile a compatible client or server, use this check in:


We are actually enforcing network compatibility now, which means that the server and client really do have to match up. Previously we didn’t disconnect incompatible clients, and things would just be more or less broken for them.

It is set to deathmatch at the moment. I can add a few more test maps, it has about 5 maps currently in its rotation :)

Be sure to grab the latest release, XAN2267662, first before connecting.
