Can't edit profile

Redrock

New member
Hi, noob question time..

Why do I get this when I try and edit my profile? :

"Redrock, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."

My account has been activated so why do I get this message?

Thanks

You need at least 20 posts before you get to edit your profile.

Because if you have checked some of the other posts, you would have seen that you need a minimum of 20 posts and it takes about 12hours before you can then change your profile.

I take it we have a couple of new members due to the comps? They say you can get people to any event if there's food, looks like the same is true for gamers and PC components. :D

Hey guys, thanks for helping the [-]fresh meat[/-] shiny new forumites out. It is indeed mainly to combat spam. You won't believe what spamfarms do to try and get their links on a site without anyone noticing.

Add another thanks to the list for this info. Saved me having to ask the same.
I think it's a great policy, especially if it helps to keep the spam nonsense to a minimum. I shall diligently earn my 20 post privileges.

(Out of curiousity cos I cant find it easily, but is there a Forum FAQ about someplace? I see a lot of tips in this How-To & Walk Through forum, but a stickied new user all-in-one post collecting all these tips would be helpful. If not, can I start working on one?)
