While nothing is set in stone, Blizzard is aiming to release D3 this year. There was an article about it last month. We will only know for sure when Blizzard actually sets a release date.
And I doubt that a console implementation will delay D3. The only platforms that Blizzard seems to focus on for simultaneous releases are PC and Mac. The PS1 version of D1 was released some time after the PC version.
Some good points in this discussion.. But the important part is to just not buy the games from developers that are making shit games. It's normal to get excited about their new IPs because everyone always "hopes" that the next would be better, but it almost never is.
Buying a game like Black Ops is like having a bad hangover the next day. You know that you are going to regret it the next day, but you still do it and sometimes you want to kick yourself in the head.
Just say "Hell no" to shit games and don't let the hype monster eat you alive. :D

I remember when I started playing games on my XT and later upgraded to a Pentium , back then , there were hundreds of little start up companies all starting genres , making memorable games and made us all spoiled for choice , new releases every month , releases for games youve never heard of , by companies you never heard of , and each and every one of them had one thing in common , they were small cheap games that kept us all entertained for hours and we still remember them to this day.
You would be hard pressed to see a release roster for a month containing more than 10 games ..
shows you how big the monsters have gotten and how bad it is for us , the consumers.
I dream of the day that small fresh indie games get released on a weekly basis by people from all around the world , perhaps via Steam , games that entertain us for hours and dont cost an arm and a leg ,
we will support them and they will make a living from making new fresh games untarnished by these large corporate giants damaging the industry for the rest of us.
Is it good for a programmer to program for a large in-house company like EA ?
Not really , ive seen many blogs of disgruntled ex employees who finish a game and get the boot ,
working in a small group and getting your money's worth , making a name for yourself and releasing new fresh content onto steam at reasonable prices will keep them in the green , keep us entertained and generally motivate other people to also start their own programming houses.
I hope this isnt a pipe-dream (pun intended , think oldschool games)
I enjoy seeing these big companies fail and seeing the little company's games get rewarded.
