Howzit guys,

lol, that's actually a good question. I'd like to know as well please. :D
Right click on the game and select "Delete local files' - should do the trick.
Right click -> Delete local content is the best Steam does. I've got a pile of games I regret buying sitting in my list :/
Right click, Delete Local Content ?
EDIT:
Oh... nevermind :p
Also, after you have deleted the local content, go to your steam folder, then steamapps I think it is and then a folder called common. Most of the non-source games should be in there. Delete the folder of the game in there as well, if it still exists.
Thanks guys I did that but now I'm left with a name in the list :(
installing linux will also uninstall the beta game...
Thats why you don't do BETA games on steam :p
Seriously though they should work on this feature.
You could make a category Z_Useless Games and tag them with that and that would be the best you can do.
Use the filter drop-down (top-left next to search) and select "Installed". No more beta games showing up :)
I've read on the Steam forums that you can ask support to remove a game from your account if you really don't want it, there's nothing official to say they do this but you could always try.
hate steam. bought warhammer dawn of war 2. when i intalled it i had to download 8 gigs of updates b4 i could play the game. even the steam guys said there is no way arround it. Grrrrrrrrrrr
That's because you had fail. You should have stopped the installation. Removed it and tried again. What happened was not 8 gigs of patches, but the game downloaded itself instead of using the disc for installation. It happens from time to time.

There is a way around that. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...5357-FSQM-0382

Using Steam launch options to install retail games from disc
Log in to Steam and click on Library.
Right-click on the game, select Delete local content, and confirm.
Insert the first disc into your computer.
Close Steam (Steam > Exit).
Press Windows Key + R to open Run
In the Run window type:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E:
Replace E: with the CD/DVD drive you are installing from if is not correct.
Replace C:\Program Files\Steam if your Steam installation is not in the default location.
Press OK. Steam will launch and ask you to sign in if you do not have your password saved. Your installation should continue from the disc.
Yeah, but there is no way around updates though.
No, but would you want to play an un-updated unpatched game?
