Hey guys, Could not find that old thread like this one. Probably was not looking hard enough but i have an updated rig so thought that an updated score would be nice(even if widows is on crack).

Hey guys, Could not find that old thread like this one. Probably was not looking hard enough but i have an updated rig so thought that an updated score would be nice(even if widows is on crack).
Windows ain't such a great tool to measure the performance of your PC by, but it does give you an indication.
You my friend have a nice rig.
I don't even know where to find the scores anymore but I reckon mine were anything between 5 and 7.
haha. that is why i added that windows was on crack.
To get your score you need to right click on computer and go to properties. At rating it will give you your base score which is the lowest sub score. if you click on Windows Experience Index it will give your full score. The highest score that you can get so far on win7 is 7.9. with Windows 8 we will probably see a score of 9.9 or even maybe 10. haha something new to strive towards.
Does having a 32 bit version of 7 ultimate and a 64 bit version of 7 ultimate make a difference to the strictness off the scoring?
From memory sake my gpu is 7.4 cpu is 6,1 ram is 7,0 and hdd is 5,3
Nope the bit version does not make a difference as far as I know. It's really only hardware that it tests.
Its just that my buddy got some more ram and he is now on 4 gig DDR3 (ultimate 7 64bit) yet the rating is lower then my 4 gig DDR2 (ultimate 7 32 bit). I know mine is dual channel and as far as I know his is as well. Just really weird
hmmm. wonder if that is the case with regards to the windows score and 32bit or 64bit? the only thing that i can think of is because you are running 32bit and 4GB of ram that the ram is maxed out at 4GB and your mate is running Ultimate 64bit and is only maxed out at 192GB. It could also be due to the type of ram and speed rating.
How do you get the score thing?
Read page 1 to find your score.

Scores:

Ram: 7.1
Graphics: 7.6
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
Not bad for an old system
Also managed a 7.3
How do you guys manage those scores for you harddrives?
Mines like 5.4 or something.
i got a new stick of ram and a new hdd. HDD doesn't change my score but the ram on the other hand really put a big jump on the rating for some reason. Really cheap ram at suprising results

Xero why is the MAc book pro scroing so low in RAM and CPU?
is that normal?
Bootcamp :/
It sort of saps the power right out of the hardware, lol, before the Bootcamp Patch you could for instance not install anything that did a USB Port Check on the machine on Windows 7 as the older version did not recognize that there were any USB host controllers
They aren't , but I work in a Pure Windows Enviroment, so running a version of Win 7 was essential
indeed, id imagine tryna remote from a mac into a windows environment has its headaches :)
So upgraded my PC the weekend:
Processor: 7.6 - i7 2600
Ram: 7.6
Graphics:7.4
Gaming Graphics: 7.4
Primary Hard Disk: 5.7 - Sucks maybe need a ssd
GeForce GTX560Ti - 1GB GDDR5
Um maybe it just checks the amount of ram on the card :wtf: have no clue
If you find out let us no
Maybe it has to do with the drivers. Are you running the latest drives? It does not have to do with the amount of ram cause i used to run SLI GTX460's and got a score of 7.6 or 7.7 if i remember correctly. Now i am running a GTX 580 and get 7.9 which has 512MB less ram.
