Not entirely true, Anime is massively popular in Japan with many demographics, since it is a part of their culture.

hahhaah I can talk to her :p she is teaching english in japan. been there for nearly two years now. I see all her pictures on her adventures makes me so jelly :p
Always been inlove with japan. MY first friends mom comes from tokyo funny story with her. She dated a yakuza and her father found out and burnt all her stuff lol.
Oh dear. It looks like this is going to be a horribly busy season for me.
As of last night, I have already picked up:
Akame ga Kill - fantasy and action is always a good mix
Barakamon - comedy - the first episode was promising
Rail Wars - interesting premise - first ep felt a little rushed though
Sword Art Online II - because SAO
Futsuu no Joshikousei ga Locodol Yattemitta - school idols, but not on the same level as Love Live - looks entertaining enough though
Tokyo Ghoul - more gore and violence, but it looks like Funi is going to be censoring the crap out of it
Glasslip - still iffy about this, but in terms of visuals PA Works is always top-notch
Sailor Moon Crystal - Usagi's voice still annoying? Check
And then of course, holdovers from last season - Baby Steps and Mahou Koukou no Rettousei
This list is going to get a bit longer before the end of this week.
Also - I'll post the results of my Spring 2014 Favourites a little later today - I'm just making it prettier. The results were kinda disappointing though.
Watched the first episode of space dandy season 2. What a laugh love it.
Never made it through the first season - so I doubt I'll be picking up season 2.
In any case, here are the results of the vote for the Spring 2014 shows - I'm a bit disappointed by the general lack of interest by the local anime fan community, but I promised to post it, so here it is:
