OH GOD PLEASE NO!
End of Gundam as we know it...
God, I hope [GG] subs this it would be the most legend trolllsub ever! (maybe it could stump DB's TL's on Soul Eater!)
Quick announcement: Kawakami Tomoko (seiyuu) passed away yesterday at the age of 40. For those of you not aware who she is - she voiced some pretty well known characters, such as:
Soi Fong - Bleach
Rosette - Chrno Crusade
Dream Girl - Clannad
Shindou Hikaru - Hikaru no Go
Kurata Sayuri - Kanon
among others - she's had a massive career.
Just finished watching Shippuuden (or is it Shippuden??) Episode 71.
Gotta say the whole commotion of Tsunade declaring Konoha in a level two - and then in a level one state of emergency was pretty awesome (although no one really seemed to give a rat's ass about what level emergency they were in "whistling:)
Wasn't Naruto supposed to get insanely stronger from his several years of training with Jiraiya? He doesn't seem much stronger than he was before the training - he's still using kage bunshin and rasengan to no end.. or maybe the emphasis is supposed to be on him maturing?
Naruto (and Bleach, for that matter), lost my interest because they were just running around in the same circle - start off with a weakling, get him beaten up a bit, he goes for training, comes back with some new moves and stuff and whallops the bloke who gave him a hiding in the first place. End circle, rinse and repeat. Sometimes the same guys come back for another dose of punishment.
I got really irritated in Bleach. The first season was pretty epic, with Ichigo needing to come to terms with his new powers and learning to use them, and eventually beating some of the strongest fighters in Seireitei (Kenpachi, Byakuya etc). Fast forward a bit (where Orihime gets kidnapped) and he's fighting the Espada, and despite being uber-powerful gets his ass handed to him. Who comes and saves him - managing to kick the asses of the same guys who were giving Ichigo grief?
The same guys who he pounded in the first season :/ The same guys, who, in the interim, weren't going through special training. I had a healthy dose of WTF circling through my head - and eventually I just got irritated and stopped watching.
There's a reason a story has a beginning and an end, something the creators of Bleach and Naruto haven't latched onto yet.
Yeah you guys are probably right. Although Naruto seems pretty cool to me and its the first anime i've gotten into (unless you consider Dragonball Z or Pokemon)
Am gonna continue watching till Naruto defeats Pain.. heard it's really awesome. Then i'm gonna start watching some of the other (probably better, from what it seems) anime series i have like Basilisk, Claymore and D.Gray-man
Also gonna watch The Animatrix. Not sure if it's technically anime. Anyone watched it? Is there any real storyline to it?
d.gray man is also a typical shounen show lol.. good but even bleach is better..
right now im loving hanasaku iroha,C, anohana, steins gate and tiger&bunny
really awesome shows this season..
im announcing it.. AnoHana is my show of the year. really gonna take something special to beat it..
good morning
Would like to know why the nose’s of characters in anime start bleeding when they do something perverted? Like when they ask what panty’s the girl is wearing.
thanks shadowfox.
just wanted to know . had to rewind a part of one-piece could not stop laughing at brook....
It gets even better when you see girls do it ... maybe because it's kinda unexpected :D
Sexy No Jitsu :D
good morning MyGG oracle.
i would like to know if there is any good sci-fi anime that doesn't have any robots in them?
I assume you mean Gundam type robots? :p
Starship Operators
Cowboy Bebop
Kiddy Grade
Last Exile (although its more Steampunk than Sci-fi, but still pretty good)
Solty Rei (drama with sci-fi elements)
Birdy the Mighty 1 & 2 (sort of)
Stellvia of the Universe
Planetes
Crest of the Stars and Banner of the Stars
last exile and cowboy bebop was good. don't know about the rest.
Do they blowup alien scum in one of the series or something in the line of Fringe or 11th hour ? a Farscape anime series would be interesting .
Starship Operators I enjoyed because of its attention to detail - particularly things like physics in movement and acceleration in space (I was a bit of a physics buff in school, and I still retain some interest) - it focuses on a war between an interstellar empire and a single renegade ship - all human, no aliens. It was disappointingly short though.
Kiddy Grade (very misleading name if you ask me) follows two agents of a government organisation - and it starts off with a case per episode type deal, but develops a very twisty plot later on, and you need to pay attention if you don't want to lose track. Some pretty characters, a fair bit of fanservice, and very high-quality animation.
Crest & Banner of the Stars covers a number of series - and its more of a space opera - it's got a very big universe and history to play off against. I watched it quite awhile ago, so I can't really remember specifics, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Planetes follows a group of space-workers in charge of clearing space debris from Earth's orbit - more of a drama type, so if you're looking for action this won't be your style.
Stellvia of the Universe is a little more easygoing again - not heavy on the action - and follows a group of students who are in the Space Academy in order to protect Earth from some form of interstellar catastrophe - after the planet being hit by one before.
I just realised how difficult it is to find sci-fi anime that doesn't have some form of mecha in it ... the Japanese seem to love the damn things.
Also ... I wanna go watch all of these again now. Damn you Ozerc0n :D
Mwhhahahahahah
I enjoyed bubble gum crisis . it wasn't to mecha for me...
If you like comedy watch this - The Irresponsible Captain Tylor.
also try watch GantZ - The First Stage, GantZ - The Second Stage
howsit guys
watched some new shows this season.. kamisama dolls is promising
blood-c pre air was good as well
i also watched an episode of japanese power rangers(not anime) but lol.. its funny
Crunchyroll, of course, typically doesn't have 75% of the shows available for our region :<
So no Naruto till next week. Hopefully they will start getting to the point about things.
Watched the beginning of No-6, very interesting show so far.
Also saw first episode of blade and blood-c.
Any chance of subs for Alps no Shoujo Heidi? could only find raws :(
Started watching Toriko, enjoying it so far.
Also busy watching Blue Exorcist, blood-c, blade and no.6
I've tried a few times using pimsleur. Can do the hi, bye, how are you, where, there- those very basic of course. Would love to do a decent Latin, though that is next to impossible with Latin being a dead language and best seems latinum afaik.
more ontopic: wasn't hellsing ultimate 8 suppose to arrive sometime in july ?
Ordered myself a Kindle DX....I'm just drooling at the thought of loading manga onto it :D
They released one of the official trailers on the 7th yes - but the release date is the 27th.
