Anime thread... There goes my productivity at work :/
I haven't actually read the whole thread, but if you haven't watched the Kenshin OVAs and the Hellsing OVAs then you haven't watched anime!
Also Neon Gen is the most freaken confusing anime EVER... Also Akira... Actually there are a lot of them, but Neon Gen wins in my book!
I think i watched Evangelion 3 times before i fully understood what was going on.
Ghost In The Shell in general for me is just awesome. I think I was paying a lot of attention when I watched it since it was one of my first animes I watched back in the day.
But then there is Stand Alone Complex and then Ghost In The Shell 2 also... Good series and good times!
But I am going to be real serious right now... Like real serious. Hellsing OVAs and Kenshin OVAs. If you haven't seen these then you NEED to get them ASAP!
dam i need to find it in the english dub.
Hellsing is just AWSOME !! wish there was more :/ or i might be missing the plot.
Only anime i watch atm is Naruto (manga and animation). Got bored of Bleach.
Any other anime thats similar to Naruto that you know of ?
You're asking for more anime in one of the most popular genres. Hundreds of choices :P
Anyway, looking for assistance, hopefully one of you can help me!
I'm looking to find if anyone knows which outlets (if any!) can get a hold of Alter and Yamato manufactured anime figures - or if manufacturer is even a problem in obtaining specific models. I already know the ones I'm looking for aren't available locally, so I'm generally looking to find who I can ask to look into ordering them.
Thanks!
If you are interested the DVD's for Hellsing Ultimate are quite cheap on amazon.co.uk at the moment £3.00 excl. Postage and import tax. Which is pretty awesome, and on the US site they have a 1-5 BD/DVD combo for about R450.
Similar to Naruto - Yu Yu Haukusho, Sailor Moon, One Piece, Hunter X Hunter, Saint Seiya, Fairy Tale, just to mention a few.
It's probably just going to be less problematic to order them straight from overseas - rather than trying to get a local retailer to order them for you.
I haven't ordered figures from them yet, but CDJapan has always given me good service to date, and their prices are pretty reasonable for the most part - they have ALTER and YAMATO categories, but of course only the newer figures are available.
Of course there's also Hobby Link and Hobby Japan. While I'd love to import and sell the figures locally, the only thing I'm never sure of is the local market - and then of course, since I'm not a business myself, I'd need to scrape the money for that from somewhere.
Thanks much! Both the models I'm looking for are new... in that they are getting remade for a second run.
CDJapan has one of the model's I'm looking for... I think? It's listed as being "Out of Print" for availability, but also has a "pre-order" option to purchase. Considering the nature of pre-order, I'm unsure whether they don't have any in stock, but can get the upcoming re-release, OR if all the re-release pre-orders have already been taken up!
Hobby Link has both - can you recommend their services?
Edit: Wait, hold on - I was in Hobby Link Japan. Does that matter? It certainly seems more appropriate than the Hobby Link Australian site I went just now ;P
I'm going to rewatch gundam seed... saw part of one episode and it bit me again :(
ok sweet will have a look
I'm going to guess that the pre-orders are all sold - given that there's no add to cart option - which would be there even for preorders.
As for Hobby Link Japan (that was the one I was referring to) - I've never used them, so I unfortunately cannot vouch for them in any way - I just know they've been around for a while, and they seem pretty good in terms of trustworthiness.
I see the one figure you linked to is also available on Hobby Search but I see reservations are closed there as well and there's a waiting list.
The nice thing about all these companies is that they charge us in JPY - and I think (haven't kept an eye on it) we're slight better off in terms of exchange rate against Japan
If Only I had the money...

18,850.00 JPY = 2,084.33 ZAR :(
Oh yeah if anyone hasn't seen Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust then please do so... Probably my favorite Anime movie.
I am busy reading Historys Strongest Disciple Kenichi manga. Really enjoying it. :D
I just downloaded a anime called BTOOM! Not bad.
I started watching my recently purchased Martian Successor Nadesico DVDs this week :)
Such nostalgic bliss ^_^
I'm now waiting for my Kaichou wa Maid-sama DVDs to arrive - I think that will most probably be my final purchase for the year - but it's a pity, because Rightstuf is running some epic specials at the moment. I think I will save up for next year Thanksgiving though :)
Think I'm..... going to try out some

Has anyone around here watched all of Darker than Black? Is it just me that gets confused with this anime?
HDMI cable + A GPU with a HDMI output. Trust me, it's the easiest thing to do, I just output my PC to my TV and watch all my anime like that.
If you have mini HDMI on your GPU just get a Adaptor. They about R100 at Space or Ellies.

But I am enjoying HSD:kenichi manga a lot more :p Damn alien :p
I'm currently going through the joys of trying to find info on all the series releasing in January :p
Vividred Operation and Da Capo III have caught my eye so far, along with the 2nd season of Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai - I still need to watch the first season of the show though.
So much catching up to do (1st world problems :3)
