Confirmed.
Although - unfortunately the series isn't very good. It's entertaining enough, certainly, but didn't live up to the promise of its predecessor, Kiddy Grade.
I hate to break it to you ... but in many cases anime series are not extremely profitable, and exist for the sole purpose of generating hype for the manga/game/light-novel series that they are based on.
I could quote a couple of examples - the most apparent being The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. People have been crying for years for a 3rd season ... but it's most likely not happening. Simply because sales of the DVD/BD sets weren't up to standard. Blade and Soul was nothing more than a promo for the Japanese release of the MMO.
You have those that go the opposite way, of course ... where the DVD sales are so good that they exceed expectations and almost guarantee an additional season. Here you have the Monogatari series (2nd best sales for 2013 series), Attack on Titan (best selling series last year). But Attack on Titan became one of the best selling manga series last year, solely because the anime did what it was supposed to do.
Want something AMAZING to watch? I swear its better than No Game No Life.
JoJo's Bizzare Adventure. It is fsucking brilliant. Ofcourse thats just my opinion but seriously try it.
Finished watching Psycho-Pass....an amazing anime it was!! Characters and character development were amazing, the story was really great....it was really interesting.
Going to watch Shiki in a few days time...
I know i rarely post here because i have lost touch with the anime scene but i still know a little :p
Appleseed Alpha got this today :)
I'm wondering if I should watch the new edit - I watched the first season of PP less than 2 months ago, and while it was pretty awesome I'm not sure I want to get involved with what is essentially a rewatch so soon. On the other hand, I did also hear that it will transition into season 2, so mayby I should.
*sigh* I'm following so many shows already. It's a tough life ... being an anime fan :p
I won't watch the new edit right now, I will probably wait until it is done, or maybe I could just 'refresh' my memory with the new episodes.
Tough indeed, I can't keep up with what's showing now let along what was showing 3 seasons ago :/ to make it worse I will stumble into something I have had for ages and then marathon it through to the end essentially loosing track of where I was originally.
I'm at a loss. I don't know what to watch after No Game, No Life. I've started watching Aldnoah.Zero (bad idea since there's only 2 episodes out) and I've started watching Evangelion... I have mecha itch that needs to be scratched:o
Well ... my standard procedure is to follow all the current shows I'm interested in, while simultaneously watching something on my backlog (Beelzebub at the moment - it's hilarious), and then sometimes doing one of my many rewatches.
It's just as well that I don't put a particularly high value on having a social life :D
Oh Beelzbub...I loved that anime...I wished there was more of it!! I might as well rewatch it, havn't seen it in HD / Full HD...
Manga has ended a while ago and there was not much to go on with how the manga ended, basically the same as the Anime did.

I'm with you on that one 100%!
Riding a Dragon? :D
Holy crap! I just stumbled onto Log Horizon. I almost wrote it off as a cheap Sword Art Online knockoff:eek:. It's quite good though :D

"I asked my uncle, what does 'Hyōka' mean? Then... He told me... Thats right! He told me to be strong. Because if I was weak, I wouldn't be able... Yes, A day... A day would come were I wouldn't even be able to scream!"
Yaaaaaa~ eventually got around to completing Hyōka, was a bit slow in the middle but it came together nicely in the end. I do not normally watch slice of life anime but I can highly recommend this one to someone whom has yet to start watching the genre.

I'm upset that nobody's licensed it. I want the DVDs
Database, Database!!! Just living in the database!
We should start our own kickstarter type website for Anime, so that we can get releases on dvd and blu ray as well as help out smaller studios get work published.
I am trying Texhnolyze but the lack of dialoge is lowering my interest. Space Dandy is a riot it can't be taken seriously, it feels like a satire of the space opera genre with a lot of vulgar and sly jokes tossed in.
@Glordit, apparently you're the Mecha man around these here parts... Could you please list your favorite Mecha anime series. I'm into mecha even though I haven't watched that much outside Gurren Lagann, Broken Blade, Code Geass, Eureka Seven, Evangelion (which I've just started watching), and the currently airing Aldnoah.Zero.
*cracks knuckles*
Stay a while and listen :)
Sorry about the last response the world seems to be working against me today.
I have quite a few that I have enjoyed you mentioned quite a few good ones yourself. I would recommend watching the Evangelion films after you have watched the series, it gives you an alternate ending and storytelling aspect.
Mobile Suit Gundam
My absolute favourite series.
Probably one of the longest running Mecha series from japan it started in 1979 (Soon to be 35 years old if you include the manga) and is still going, Build Fighters is getting a second Season and a new Series with a New Universe is also going air later this year (Gundam Reconguista in G). I would recommend you start with Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (Just a word of warning with 00 it's a very modern Gundam series set in the AD future, you may feel a little let down on the design of the other Mobile Suits in the older series) SEED, Wing + The OVA series or Build Fighters. The Gundam series itself is very involved and to honest involves a lot of politics as well as drama, it's not called a 'space opera' for nothing.
Armored Troopers Votoms
An very old but very classic series.
Diebuster & Gunbuster
Diebuster (Top o Nerae! Gunbuster) is also a must watch quite a bit older than most, the production company ran out of funds to colour the final episode but years after it's release it became a cult classic.
Gunbuster is the sequel to Diebuster you will see a little bit of Tengen Toppa in it.
Blue Gender
Classic 90's Mecha series a lot of gore and blood, more for the shock value than story telling.
Patlabor
A film series about a police force with a gigantic robot, well worth a watch.
GaoGaiGar
Betterman (a spin off of GaoGaiGar)
RahXephon
Reideen
Aquarion
Aquarion EVOL (set in a different time period)
Linebarrels of Iron
All mostly fall under the shonen style gigantic mecha sub-genre.
Cyborg 0009 (more of a 'human' robot series)
Brain Powerd
Escaflowne
Mazinger (managed to keep it's 80's visuals and style through the years)
Macross
Another classic, spans over many years has quite a few OVA's, Series and Films.
Casshern
More likely to get a hold of the rebooted series SINS, which is also a 'human' robot mecha series.
Wildcards Just throwing it out there because why not?
Medabots
Megas XLR
A thousand Thank yous, good Sir. I will be taking a good look at all the suggestion (a test of how much my mind will digest :D).
*thumbs up*
Omega Good Job:D!
EDIT: I just noticed the Medabots and Megas XLR mentions :'''D
P.S. I don't if you've tried watching Medabots recently, if you haven't (I have), don't do it (it's better in your memories ).
Not sure if you guys will like this.
Death note (it was briliant for me starts a bit slow but the idees = original)
Then there's fullmetal alchemist
Just don't wach the brotherhood one...
Yeah, I haven't seen the 1st iteration of Fullmetal Alchemist, and I quite enjoyed Brotherhood .
Any particular reason you don't like Brotherhood, I'm curious. I know if I had to have a gripe with it, it'd be the pacing in the middle of the show.
Then you can't realy make a comparison of the two. Its like apples and oranges.
FMA started out following the manga then it caught up and deviated from the manga so the anime had its own ending that did not follow the original story.
Brotherhood was released many years later after the manga had been compleped so it stayed true to the original story.
In my opinion Brotherhood is vastly superior to the original.
