I can tell you one thing though. I currently drive a 4x4 and the thing eats fuel like you can't believe. My next car is mostly going to be determined on fuel consumption. It's fuel consumption is okayish... for it's size it's actually quite thirsty! But in any case, I hate the mags... the color is one that shows scratches easily, and it's a tough color to find in case you need to do some panel beating or painting.
The car isn't bad, it's a solid ride with reasonable comforts. But it's a hatchback, and an expensive hatchback at that...
I would rather go for something else... Like these:

Or something like that, bigger engine... better comfort... better looks (lancer)... same quality build... good resell value.
If you're set on the VW stable go for the Polo GTI rather. It's ever so slightly quicker to 100 than the (significantly more expensive) GTI and a helluva fun drive.
If you're looking to fork out that much cash though I'd recommend test driving the Mito or the shit-hot A1. The DS3 is also a blast if you're willing to risk a Frog car :p
I also have 4x4 (Triton 2.5D 4x2 actually) and my Fuel consumption isnt great, around 11L/100km in town, but I gladly pay it. The sheer size of the vehicle, you can see over people in traffic etc etc etc, makes it worth it. IMO :)Quote:
