Did you know that the South African Rooifalk out preforms the AH-64 on each and every last statistic?
It's faster, it's more agile, it can carry more weapons, it's cheaper, it's easier to fly, it's queter, better altitude, better armour protection, the list goes on and on and on and on. The Rooifalk makes the Longbow Apache look like a toy.

We have pilots? :wtf:
We once had the best army in the world and now we have the worst roads in the world.
All of South Africa's army's military gear is superior to what anyone else has. The R1 rifle that was based off the FN-FAL is better then the FAL, the R5 rifle is known as the single best adaptation of the AK-47 on the planet, the NTW-20 is has the most power, accuracy and range of any anti-meterial rifle out there. It's just there isn't anyone in theis country who can use it and weapons export isn't particularly lucritive outside of the blackmarket.
Don't forget about the G5 artillery cannon! Epic shit!
G5 and G6. Accurate within 2 meters at ranges of just under 100 kilometres using rocket boosted ammunition. The next best competitor, the US Crusader, can only to 60km and than it looses accuracy. And the crusader was developed in the late 90s, while the G6 comes from the early 80s and from this little backwater country.
And in Iraq and Afghanistan, not a single person has been injured other than blow eardrums from IDE's while inside a derivative of our Caspir.
I remember going to the airshow in yzerfontein a few years back and seeing the Rooivalk in action with the demonstration. I far more enjoyed it then the jets that they had. Since then I decided that if I were to ever join the military (highly doubtful, unless I live to see World War 3) that I would go join the airforce. Would love to see those helicopters more.
Screw that. In a war situation I want my feet firmly on the ground, so that I can hide behind a crate for my health to regenerate.
Though I fly over the valley of death, I fear no evil for I am 8000 feet and climbing.
everything Raven says is just so right
the Rooivak is just awesome, i remember being able to sit int he cockpit the 1 time, we were told no photo's allowed, at the time i was just a kid and asked my dad why? he told me "the Rooivak contians much more sophitication and is still highly classified"
and in all honesty the Apache is infact a copy of the Rooivak, the Americans just wont admit this, much that the apache uses such as: moving you head left causes the chain gun to turn left
it was indeed stolen from the Rooivak. Rooivak is just wonderful, i havent seen any new Heli's pumped out by any country so far that could compete
this one looked promising
Sadly it was just a prototype

One chopper that would compete with the Rooivalk is the Russian HinD It doesn't have much in the way of overall preformance over the Rooivalk, but it's glass canopy can take a direct hit from a 20mm AP round and it can carry 6 troops. It's basicly something like a Ratel but with rotors attached to it.
If i am correct (and please correct me if im wrong), SA also created the first tank that cold drive and shoot simultaneously.
No, the 1st tank that could do that was in WW1, but South Africa made the 1st one that could do it accurately.
