Just how exclusive is Splinter Cell: Conviction?

If there's one definitive way to push publishers, developers and public relations personnel off balance, it's broaching the subject of console exclusivity. Begin the line of inquiry and you're sure to get darting eyes, an elongated "Wellllll ..." and an answer that crumples in on itself as soon as it's spoken. Perhaps it's appropriate that the topic of Splinter Cell: Conviction's exclusivity is steeped in a cloak-and-dagger mystery.

When asked if the ambitious Xbox 360 and PC stealth title was exclusive in the really real sense, producer Alex Parizeau simply stated, "It's exclusive," and admitted that it was a business arrangement with Microsoft. Prodding about timed exclusivity (a la BioShock and Fallout 3 DLC) didn't yield anything less enigmatic, so we turned to lead game designer Steve Masters. "As far as I know," he said, "this is completely exclusive."

Aha! Complete exclusive confirmed!

"But that may change in the future."

who cares ..... us Xbox owners get it waaaaay before the PS3 fanbois so all is good :D

Was never really a Splinter Cell fan, played it on PC and never liked it.

Isn't the point of exclusive games meant to get people to buy consoles when they're released? Timed exclusives should be the way most developers go to be honest...they'll make more money and have basically the same effect.

Even tho i was/am (i dunno) an xbox boi, in my eyes splinter cell was a copy of MGS

Nope ! splinter cell is way more realistic than mgs ! atleast the splinter cell plots and gameplay stick within the realms of reality ! thief is also a stealth based game series and winback on the n64 which came out way before mgs was released (no the nes mgs games dnt count) just because games fall in the same genre doesnt mean theyre copying each other, hell even hitman has elements of stealth gaming.

I can't enough of it........ and this coming from a guy that hates stealth games. :eek:

Thing is I only started playing it from the second one.... and didnt quite get into the whole splinter cell series but maybe i should try the first and work my way up..... if it were anything like a heist game or something along those lines i would have been playing it non stop :p

sam fisher is awesome ! and even the graphics in all the sc games are awesome !

Splinter Cell is like MGS ?!? :eek: Are you mad! Thank god it's not anything at all like MGS ......
