even if you try to explain it to some peeps here in baby language they still wont understand it !

Somebody go tell that to the Uncharted or GT dev's, I dont think they know yet
Phakt beat me to it. You can't compare a PS3 exclusive title to a title on Xbox and say look its prettier. Just like you can't compare a xbox exclusive title to a title on the ps3.
You want to compare titles compare MW2, AC2, Borderlands, Dragon Age. Then we can talk graphic quality. Until then i have one world for you... Ghostbusters.
Yet people having been comparing GT5 to Forza 3 for weeks now
At least this thread is singlehandedly ensuring that all pots and kettles know they're black.
Fixed it for you. I didn't do that so i wont comment.
I knew there was a reason i avoided this thread... there isn't and never will be a winner in this everlasting dick measuring contest. Yes your black toaster has a fancy dvd drive and my white, red light flashing, obelisk has a better media center than yours. who gives a ****?
I prefer great gameplay over graphics. The only things that bother me about the X360 is its terrible reliability, and its use of DVD9 instead of HD-DVD or Bluray, since that really does impact game design in a negative way.
I think GTA4 could have been the size of GTA: San Andreas if Rockstar had similar disc sizes on both platforms, but instead they had to make just one city, to fit DVD size limitations, and it isn't the sort of game where disc swapping would help.
You prefer gameplay (ala XBox 360) yet you harper on about Bluray. Well bugger me backwards and call me Sally because I still don't see your point.
Btw: the fact that Rockstar failed to do a great many things (don't worry I am a massive GTA IV fan) create a more interactive environment and engine that could be sold to other development houses just goes to show that... sometimes quantity is exchanged for time.
In fact, if you look at the DVD for GTA: IV you will find it is no wholly used up. As such, and because GTA: IV is actually such a well programmed game I would have to determine that Rockstar took the time to do most things right, within the time frame they were alloted.
Ps3 is quite weak
Where do you find these black pots and kettles?
Thanks. Need 1 of each to match the rest of my kitchen.
I went and had a look on gamespot:

From what I can tell, the detail looks slightly better on the Xbox
The top one is Xbox and bottom PS3 right? In the first pic notice the windows of the bus, they appear softer in the top pic than in the bottom one. And this is an old engine, Remember oblivion ran the same engine back when xbox was released. You could argue that Bethesda had more time to work with this engine on xbox as Oblivion for xbox was released a whole year before the ps3 came into being.
no no, you have links below the pictures, hover your mouse(not click) xbox360 or ps3 link and the picture will update, you can then hover over each one to compare them
Oh joy this thread ha sprung back to life. Does this mean that flame-bait Fridays will be occuring again?
blame bate????:confused::confused::confused:
I've really been missing out. Sounds interesting though. Looking forward to it.
sounds like fun
PS3 is much better than xbox! All the components such as the HDD and cables are standard and can be upgraded at low cost. Everything in xbox needs to be upgraded with expensive xbox-only components.
Xbox comes standard with network cable and an hd cable, PS3 dont...
And only if you buy an xbox arcade does it not come with an hdd
Not a consoles person, But Quality is worth the extra K to get a PS3. Xbox is shweet and all, But PS3 is better.
No offence to the guys on this thread, but I'm in the process of buying either a PS3 or xbox360, and after reading about ten pages I am even more confused.
Guess its going to down to flipping a coin, heads PS3, tails xbox360 :)
Or just go for a Wii.
Both are good buys. It depends on what you plan on playing. Look at both Consoles exclusives and decide which ones appeal to you more then go that route. If you a Halo, Gears or Forza kinda guy go xbox if your more a Kill Zone, Uncharted or GT guy go PS3. Both a good consoles and both have the strong and weak points. I love the fact that i can watch video's, picture and listen to music that is on my hope PC though my xbox with out some fancy setup. Some guyz love the PS3 coz it has Blu-Ray. Reading this thread is not going to help you make a decision. All you have is a bunch of fanboi's each arguing their preferred console is the better. Read reviews about games on Both platforms, check wikipedia for hardware faults and the like, thats how your going to decide which one to buy.
mmmm, I did not consider the exclusives, I've been reading up on everything else.Quote:
Just like OmegaFenix22 said it all depends on the game you want to play.
That makes the choice even harder, they are all great games. Luckily I've still got some time to decide.
At the moment I'm leaning more toward the xbox, it seems to be a solid console(hopefully all the issues with power supplies were sorted out) the project natal is a very nice development, but its still in pre production.:( I had a look a game prices and they seem to be very similar.
I will be playing online most of the time, and I'm not too happy about the fact that I have to pay to play online. In saying that, many people feel that the online component of the xbox is far superior to the PS3's. Dunno if this is true.
I will man up and make a decision.
