Eish it's pretty bad Smokeghost, for everyone from SA it's around 320+. And the network is very fickle, so you can't be running anything else while playing otherwise you get terrible lag. Other than that, after your first game, you should be used to the delay and it becomes very playable.
Lag might also be because of the recent SAT3 faults, not sure if they have been fixed yet.

Argh, everyday I check playdota.com and my email and nothing...so bleak! I want a beat key now!
In DOTA2 there is a "Quality Network" setting with two option "high and low". Here's the bandwith usage you can expect atm from DOTA2:
LOW: I averaged about 13-15 k/s
HIGH: I averaged about 25 k/s
That's 54meg vs 90meg per hour on average.
Europe gives me the best ping on 3g (350-400)
