Joker, not to high-jack your thread (should probably start another) - anyway, did you pass 24hrs on prime95 at 4GHz? I have the same CPU on a MSI 890FXA-GD70 with a Coolermaster Hyper212+. I am currently on 3.9GHz, had it on 4GHz, but couldn't get it 100% stable for 24/7 use. It makes a few hours (8+) on prime95 blended then bombs out. Temps are in the high 50's during the peaks under load, but idles at 25-28ºC and 33-38ºC during gaming. i did up the voltages, upped my CPU-Northbridge frequency etc, but I am missing something?
No worries.
It has to do with you're mobo I reckon.
multiplier to 20
HT to 200 (200x20 = 4ghz)
Voltage is the issue when it comes to mobo's, leaving on auto could cause the instability.
You're gonna have to sit and start at lets say 1.4750v Then run prime95 see if its stable, if it is then drop the V a little bit, run prime again, so on and so forth. Till you find the sweet spot.
Thanks, been there, was at 20X200, but I worked the other way around - took V up at 0.005 increments from 1.450v and ended up at 1.480v with the same results. Ended up increasing my CPU Northbridge V as well an the frequency from 2000 to 2600 (in increments) - requires a lot of patients and reboots. :) - ended up leaving it at 3.9GHz after 2 weeks.
