The issue with HDMI cables is the longer the are the better quality they need to be to keep the signal strong. So the longer ones are usually exponentially more expensive then short ones.
Anything longer then 15m and you need to get a HDMI to Ethernet converter :)

I think they got some security issues, the news letter stopped sometime ago cause they got hit by a spam bot, so now they are now blacklisted on Spamcop and the major spammer services.
So i wouldnt be suprised if the site is also getting attacked.

Hdcabling has awesome prices :P and in all fairness, a HDMI cable is a HDMI cable, just make sure the specifications fit your needs.

It is recommended that you use a HDMI Amplifier every 10 metres for quality retention
You can daisy chain these though so you do not necessarily need to go the route of converting to Ethernet

That HDMI to ethernet seems like quite an awesome idea. Could I simply hook up an HDMI to my current network and share it to a screen in the kitchen for example? Or does it have to be on its own separate network?

It's not actually over ethernet. It's over CAT5 or CAT6 cabling. It's just a cable, not on a network.
