I hear everyone says so... Im capped on my adsl now - so i cant get any info on it  I hear its what vista should have been; so its much better i take it?
Maybe all the graphical goodies; but just far more better performance and compatibility ?

Ive been using it for some time now and I havn't found any problems..as long as you have a internet connection plugged in while installing it'll install every single driver update for all your hardware without even bothering you about it. It also installs alot faster than vista..I installed it in around 20-30min.
The whole look and feel is well rounded and alot smoother. Probably the best thing about windows 7 is that it won't suck on your hardware like vista does. I havn't had any compatibillity issues with any hardware or software thus far. Its what vista should have been and a hell of alot more!!
Very nice! Sounds like i should definitely give it a shot!! Can you install straight from XP or do i have to format?
Its better to format..So you can make sure all your old drivers are definitly all gone..but that's just my opinion.
Cool... I agree on that :)
XP for me. Couldn't get myself to upgrade to Vista yet, although I don't specifically have a problem with it.
All the people I know, do not have problems with Vista. At least compared with the screams on teh internetz.
Windows 7 > All. I'm thoroughly enjoying it and I've experienced exactly 1 problem with it (BitDefender won't update for some reason).
There is no sound in the cut scenes of mirrors edge in win7 and you can't play cod4. It kills your mp3's without a hot fix. I really don't know why people put a beta OS on their daily pc...
I play cod4 on mine and I don't have any issues!!
As for running windows7 on my daily pc's, I don't have any problems or issues with it so why shouldn't I??
Im running the plain Windows 7 7000 build 32 and 64 bit
LOL
Ok well my windows defender
client version 6.1.7000.0
Engine version 1.1.4306.0
Antispyware definitions: 1.51.627.0
Haha, in other words 2008, 2009 or what?
If you right-click on the icon in the notification area and select "About" it should tell you.
Mine says 2008
OK, well I have the same version...so it's not a version difference that's resulted in yours working and mine not.
XP then Linux then VISTA
I only use XP. Vista is not my cup of tea.
Vista x 64 for me. I have win 7 x64 beta as well, but use vista for my gaming because daemon tools isn't compatible with win 7 yet.
hahahahahhahahahahha!
Pure ownage
Windows 7 > XP > Linux > Vista
Xp then any other OS then Vista :)
XP straight up :)
bwhahaha! Tincan strikes again!
Although in Stefan's defense ... I also use daemon tools to launch my miniCD for BF2. I have the original ( @ R89 why wouldn't I ?!?) but I prefer not running games off the cd all the time.
I've actually had to use daemon tools to get my valid copy of MoH: Airborne to work, since it wouldn't play off the cd.
Anyway, back to topic:
I'm currently sitting with:
AMD athlon 3000+
1.5GB ram (I sacrificed 1x512mb to my parents' pc when their ram borked over the weekend)
nvidia 8600GT
Right now XP seems like the only option for my pc - predominantly used as a gaming box. Should I bother with Win7 or not?
Besides Daemon tools is a totally legal piece of software.;) Just like the dvd writer it can be used for illegal purposes but it has legal purposes.
I have been using Vista 64Bit since launch, had some trouble in the beginning but I really like the OS now. I would wait for Win 7 for now and stay with XP if you have it.
I still prefer XP over all, even Windows 7. Maybe im just too familiar with it, but its stable and simple.
