Lol, it's a conspiracy I tell you!!! :-P. But still I have been happy with the franchise thus far. Minus Telkom giving me hell and the DRM preventing me from playing properly ^_^. But as long as the story doesn't get watered down and the gameplay mechanics keep evolving I'm also happy. Saw the preview gameplay at rAge and was quite impressed with the customisability that is coming with revelations. The game also seems to follow a darker route too. Can't wait till it releases. Got my limited edition copy heading my way (although that is only happening in December .-.)Quote:

I'm definitely not complaining about AC3 coming because of the fact that franchise always has something new to offer with every new release, as long as it's original it's something I'm completely cool with. About the rumour though, my thoughts are that it's just a rumour at the moment and I'm hoping so too, in a way. Making a new AC title every year seems a bit rushed to me, and I don't want the final game of the series to 'rushed', I want it to be well made and polished. :)
As for AC3 I want to be able to look forward to the grand finale to this outstanding franchise where the developers have taken their time to ensure everything runs smoothly, made the most out of the game, utilized all new features and that they just gave it their all to come up with a truly unique, original and new Assassin's Creed sequel. It is after all the last one in the series...right? :P
At least there is a year Gap, So I'll be able to forget about the gameplay staying exactly the same through out the series, nothing has changed except for the story line, and I have to be honest, Its starting to get really boring.

In AC 1 combat was fine, but lacked something, AC 2 that was rectified and it was made more fluid in Brotherhood they added execution streaks, which was at times annoying but rewarding at the same time. The arsenal of weapons available to you also evolved. We also see in Brotherhood that you gained the ability to use some environmental weapons to complete missions, plus you got the ability to kill people with a broom ^_^
In Brotherhood we even saw the arrival of MP. I mean sure I haven't tried it because my friends moved on since I got AC Bortherhood so late, and sure it didn't catch on like Battlefield and COD MP games but at least it showed some innovation and what was possible with the franchise.
Now tell me that the series hasn't gone one step better gameplay wise every time? Would you rather sit with a refined combat system, versus a system that changes everytime and still leaves a bitter taste in your mouth? I mean really. You're basically just palming off every single franchise out there with your ignorant statement since all of them have their signature gameplay mechanics they they build upon instead of re-inventing the wheel everytime and watering everything else down. I mean look at the Battlefield series. It builds upon it's previous gameplay successes, COD, Half-Life, GTA and the list goes on. Each franchise has it's own gameplay and with every iteration they build upon the past iterations, because they worked.
How about better Graphics? The game still looks the same, everything feels the same...
Dude I get the whole if something works don't mess with it, but seriously...after 3 games its time to at least try something different. Maybe a little more insane moves? New ways to kill people..ect ect
You can only kill someone the same way 20 times before it gets boring, and yeah AC is boring now, I loved the game but its been getting blunt now for awhile.
I agree with Dohc on this one, its turning into a cash cow.
If they don't do something radical or at least try something different then I won't bother spending my cash on the "new" game.
Also killing people with a broom is not radical or different in any way "whistling:
Oh and if you wanna know what I am on about, Just play Witcher and Witcher 2. That is what I call progress.
