I'd love to hear what Mo has to say about this, since he's the producer of the show. Like I've said - he did my interview and it was great! Pippa was the one who actually approached me in the first place. So everything went 100% "cool bananas" until the show with my segment was presented by Thomas Gumede. The segment was great and then, SMACK, ol' Thomas throws in one of his infamously unfunny comments - negating the whole spirit of the segment AND insulting me AND my wife.

So yeah. Sorry Mo. You have a great vision for the show, but your presenters suck donkey-balls and you should have seen this coming. I TOLD YOU I'd present your show for you! NOW look what happened!

I only watched the show because it was on before South Park

Pippa is full-retard in my opinion, she has terrible MC capabilities too (she seems to struggle all the time "to find her words" or whatever retarded excuse she always uses).

Furthermore, she also has the tendency as do A SHITLOAD of game-journos to overuse the word "awesome", FOR FUCK SAKE, BUY A GODDAMN THESAURUS!

Thankfully I think we're not missing the point here and that the focus is on how *gamers* are being presented - not how she's presenting herself.

Comments like that will undoubtedly turn up (as they have) - but we're watching things, and we'll make sure things remain civil. As always, posts out of line will be dealt with accordingly. :)

Well that certainly was awful to watch, but I'm quite surprised about everyone's reaction to it. Isnt it obvious this is what The Verge has become? They let non-gamers speak for the show and let the viewers do game reviews. Not to mention the awful presenter that was Thomas Gumede. I don't have a problem with Pippa, but they're depending on her to attract viewers, when they should be focusing on the content of the show. I remember they often asked the viewers what they would like to see on the Verge, how they would change it, but none of those suggestions were ever added to the show. Obviously the producers of the show are not interested in what gamers really want to see.

Thinking about it now, it becomes sort of clear that it caters for the casual, fly-by gamers or those who want to see some cool action clips and a moderately hot presenter to pass the time. I mean, if I recall correctly, 80% of comments sent into the show while it's on consists of stuff like "dz g4m iz rlly c0ol kepp lo0kn h0t pippa!1".

That would technically be even more reason to be insulted.

If The Verge isn't for the gamers they're depicting in this video; then that means that they're openly baiting and mocking gamers and broadcasting it to a different demographic for kicks.

It would be the stereotypical equivalent of the pretty girl asking the nerdy guy to the prom, and then pantsing him in front of the whole school.

So it's lose/lose for them either way. I'm pretty surprised this managed to even make it to air. As it's been pointed out; it has absolutely no content to it aside from making a few dudes feel awkward on camera.

Now let me also be fair; I come from the auidiovisual industry - while Lalla is presenting in a certain way, it's not entirely her fault - presenters don't usually get given free-reign to do as they please. This was directed by someone, and backed by a content producer and was given to video editors to compose in a specific way.

I'm not sure if that's how the Verge is done (Vuzu channels usually have very small production teams); but that's how the industry works.

My point is - it's an intentional depiction, that was orchestrated from a lot of sides. If it was just Lalla presenting in that way, I wouldn't be so irked, because that would be her own personal ignorance. This was done by people who *should* know better.

Also, let's try keep the personal insults to a minimum here guys; remember, it's not about the people, it's about the message.

Keep it civil to avoid a pot calling the kettle black situation. You can't feel insulted if you do exactly the same thing.
