Lets have a look.. Busy downloading a new version.. Boggles the mind why it doesn't do this automatically!

well I have resorted to running the "special no Origin" way and I actually have my Origin running without any crashes so far.
if this "special" way is gonna cause issues, then I hope they fix their stupid Origin because I can't stand it any more.
I'm having the same issue , Origin launches and then dissapears :/
yep, same here, for going on a week now it's been up and down. Seemed a bit more stable yesterday though.
I'm basically forcing a game launch through Battlelog at this stage
Have you guys tried what i suggested on the previous page?
Also, Kuga and gwainw did it work for you or did i just get lucky? :PQuote:
Open origin, while it loads go to your task manager, right click Origin.exe and set your affinity to core 1. (Just so it won't crash)
Now click on the little gear icon (options) at the top of Origin, then click settings.
Scroll down and tick 'Update to the pre-release version if available' and click done.
Restart your Origin and it should download an update.
Your game and Origin will now (hopefully) work.
Origin is the local client that gets the command from that Battlelog plugin and then launches a ServerCore (or something related), which in turn launches BF3 and punkbuster executables.
If you run process explorer (www.sysinternals.com) you can see which processes are launched by other processes.
Normally when I launch a BF3 game on a server session and BF3 doesn't start, I open process explorer and restart (done by right clicking and selecting restart) the Origin process session.
If I hang mid game or on map change, I open process explorer, right click the Origin process and select the End Process Tree option.
As for hating Origin, we all do to some extend. But we have to tolerate it because we love Battlefield... Using the Razor patch will get you banned / blacklisted by EA, probably.
