On a local account at the moment, so I take it it still applies?
I haven't been on for 2 months but it was still one char training back then. But now you have planted a seed of doubt in my mind .....
I do believe it's still one character training at a time except if you have more than one account then you can train one character at a time for each account.
There is a chance that I'm wrong since I don't actually play EVE Online. :)
Yes it is. Only 1 character can train at a time per account.
Eish! But I guess it isn't a game you'd want to alt much in anyway.
So I managed to resub my account last night... the corp my friend wants me to join is in Amarr space :(
Anyone in Durban got a copy of the latest version?
Keep in mind that you can download the Premium Graphics client locally. Check the Local MMO Downloads thread for the link.
It's fairly recent so you shouldn't have to endure much patching at all.
And after the Client there is only a 250mb patch.
Thanks Lydon, Fenix,
I was at about 9% of the 2gig client from the official site, canned it now for the local one.
Thank God for uncapped ADSL at work and an awesome IT manager. I guess I'll get to start playing again sometime next week. I might do a new 14 day trail again just to see if I can sustain some interest before coughing up the cash for my actual account.
Too late :D But it's no issue, I need all the hard drive space I can get anyway.
Im hooked. Been playing for about 10 or so hours, standing at about 1.6 or 1.7 mill. Finished the career agent missions for military and now playing around with mining as i haven't decided which course to take. Both i think. Only time will tell. Never thought the mmo bug would bite me.
How big's the Download?
There is a local download of about a gig then a 250mb +/- patch. Really nothing compared to wow's 1gb here 3gb there.
OC also said he played for about an hour and it only used 5mb of cap. There is a way a player can invite another player, like OC did with me, and the invited player gets 21-day trail account which can then be transfered to a paying account. After my trail runs out im defiantly going to get a regular account.
How much is the subscription - someone actually told me about it a while ago, but I didn't have an internet connection back then, so I put it out of my mind.
Then, I need to get hold of the client as well. Unfortunately, I'm on a 3G connection, so I definitely can't download.
Cool. I was on for 7 hours on Saterday and 4 last night. Own 3 ships (including the one i started with) i put some pix up on xfire. Nothing major, one frigate has a nice big cargo bay so i use it for mining (which isn't so bad) and the other is an more fight orientated frigate.
Still getting use to the combat but im getting there. haven't died one but then again lowest sec ive been is 0.4. That was on a cargo run with 6 jumps either way and made just over a 100k.
Hey OC u said u have a desktop program that u use to check ur skill training and stuff, what is is called again?
EVEMon
It uses the API from the client, which you can get from www.eve-online.com\api\ iirc.
The planner is pretty powerful, tells you what skills to get if you want to use say a tractor beam, calculates the time it will take, and shows you what skills to get to increase the learning speed
Oh btw, there is a SA channel in game.
Hmmm, I think it is called rsachat1
The really weird thing is how small u feel. I mean ive interacted with 1 other person who wanted me to join a corp. I see other players but want to feel comfortable before i venture into pvp.
So not so bad then.
Hmmm I also feel like playing now. I'll think about maybe starting later in the year.
The more the merrier. Would like to join up with some local guyz. Just till i get to grips with everything.
If ur CPT based and wanted i could put it on a dvd and mail it to u. But yes. Im sure 1 mmo at a time is more than enough.
My Current Ship - for fighting.

I have 2 railguns that i decided to replace with Light Electron Blaster with antimatter rounds. I have 2 shield booster and a repair kit and something else fitted, an after burner. My capacitor depletes in 37 seconds if i have them all active. I normally have just one shield booster going so my capacitor is stable then i fire after burner till in optimal range and let rip with the blasters. I have to be pretty close to account for the fallout, 1100m, but i wait till i get below 900m. 2, 3 direct hits and the other guy is caput. Granted these are only mission specific NPC's so propably not overly hard. but if i do a few upgrades i have a feeling i would stand a fair chance is a straight up fight with 1 other guy. Ill possible be ok if there are 2 but more ill propably wake up in a new body.
Here is my baby; my trusty old Raven.

I cannot remember what fittings I have. I'll have to look for them (Shield tanking and torpedos)
Very Nice. I might eventually try for a covert ops frigate also as that sounds like a possible avenue for profit. That and bounty hunting.
Have you watched the Ambulation update video? THEN you'll feel small once you realise just how big the starter ship is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abMEVENz1jQ
Anyway, I'm getting back into it too :) Mining is my calling.
Mining is fun on the side. Jump from station to astriod flied. Fill up my hold, war back, unload jump back. Did that for an hour lastnight and then refined it all before going on a 6 jump there, 6 jump back cargo run to sell the refined ore for almost 100k. Sat reading gametm while it was going. I think trading, like buying cheap here, selling expensive there could also make good money but u need some start up capital for that. So i think for now anyways im going to focus on combat. First finish the mining career advancement track then focus solely on combat type missions while i save up and train up for my cruiser.
I quite enjoy mining solely. Making mining buddies is fun. The same ol' people mining the same ol' belts day after day...you bond ya know? :p
