More than 2gb of ram finally! Although my game sits at 60fps constantly before the patch. They really do need to up the graphics a lil'... skyrim with frostbite 2 sounds good to me.

Cracked version ftw.i still have the first/second version and it's running without any problems.i'll download a patch when all the major problems have been sorted out.
Jeez this thread has slowed down quite a lot. Tons of people are saying that they they are giving Skyrim a break at the moment. Same here.
But still, I have been reading the Books of Skyrim on my iPhone in the last couple of days. These guys really put some effort into the background and lore of this game.
I think its just the Christmas weekend. I haven't played much at all.

Started a new game couple of days ago. Using Thum'mic now and that difficulty mod to make things more challenging.
Also wanna get the mod to remove the compass. Super fun. :D
Been playing off and on since December. Trying to explore every single little thing of the game. I haven't even touched the main quest yet. Just been doing side missions all over the place.
I suggest doing the main quest until you finished the Jurgen Windcaller and Kynesgrove quests, but not starting on Diplomatic Immunity. You can then ask the Greybeards for locations to learn shouts. You can also use shouts in populated areas and get a letter from a mysterious friend that also gives the locations of shout word walls.
Yeah I think I'm done with Skyrim for now.
Need to have these borked quests fixed, because they're getting on my nerves.
So for me it will be back to Minecraft, see you in a few months!
I bought Skyrim during the Christmas sale. Still need to get into it properly.
Traded in my PS3 copy and got the PC version today. It sucks that I have to start a new game, but I've had it with the constant freezing on PS3. If Bethesda eventually manage to fix the PS3 version I will get another copy and continue with my character, until then it's PC version for me.
I just completed reading this ENTIRE thread... took me about 3 days on and off... and now I am more excited about this game than before. Made level 8 last night, will get a few hours in tonight :)
I seem to be havimg problems with the PC version as well. It was working fine at first, but since Sunday afternoon it keeps crashing my PC so that I have to reset it to be able to continue. The screen goes black (switches off) and then after a second or two the sound starts looping indefinitely until I reset. I have installed some mods, but I doubt that's the issue since I have been using them from the start and it only started happening after about 10 hours of play.
I have come across people with the same issue on the steam forums, but no solutions thus far. It wouldn't really bother me that much if it happened after a long session, but it happens after playing for like 5 minutes. At first I thought it was my GPU that overheats, but I played Witcher 2 for about 2 - 3 hours yesterday with no issues.
Anyone have an idea how I can fix it or even what the cause is?

Sorry no idea, never experienced that ever in my 160+ hours of play. Had some crash to desktop stuff, but nothing major.
Have you tried setting your sound to, I think 44Khz & 16-bit, in your Control Panel, I think I remember something like a sound setting causing crashes.
Some crashes also stop if you disable AA, V-sync, etc. Hope that helps or do what I did, put the game down and play it again, once they fix their borked game...
I did try changing the sound settings but to no avail. AA and all the other fancy settings are off anyway as I doubt my PC can handle it. Maybe I'm not supposed to play Skyrim :(
If it still does this when I get home tonight I'm buying Oblivion 5th Anniversary tomorrow and then I'll play that instead.

I've been trying to get a hold of Skyrim on the xbox for weeks, seems suppliers are sold out and don't know when the next shipment is coming is :/
Ive checked Zaps, AWX and called Btgames, none of them seem to have stock in JHB. Im gonna go check CNA tomorrow. But they those type of stores all sell at R600 for newish games... Oh well :/
I ended up buying Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition today so I'm going to try Skyrim again soon (installing Oblivion now) and if it crashes on me even once I am switching over to Oblivion. I've pretty much had it with Skyrim's issues; first it keeps freezing my PS3 and now it keeps on crashing on PC. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the game but I am only willing to go through so much shit to play it. Oblivion is a bit old now, but there is a crapload of awesome mods for it and I really am in the mood for a Bethesda game.
SO ... I installed Oblivion with a mod or two and I wasn't even done creating my charcater when it crashed in the exact same way as Skyrim did. I then decided to boot The Witcher 2 (after resetting) and sure as hell it did the exact same thing. I'm guessing it's hardware related, must be the GPU overheating or something. My brother (who knows a lot more about hardware than I do) will have a look at it tomorrow. I really hope it's not my GPU dying as I really don't have the cash to buy a new one now. :(
The weird thing is that Witcher was working fine yesterday and it never crashed, but it crashed now after less than 5 minutes. The only difference is yesterday I played Arena and tonight I played the main game.
Started playin again.. And I noticed one thing... One does not simply sneak with heavy armour...:/ Also.. I remember someone having a problem with the whole camera shaking while in a cave or something and I figured out what it is.. Itz not a glitch or anything.. I was the greybeards summoning him to go to them on the mountain... Also.. I'm now playing with a nord and playing as Mage fighter using bound weapons as well as normal weapons with some destruction magic in between..:)
The Skyrim Thread is still going strong I see :P Still tryna get my hands on it and it still looks like it's as popular as ever :D
My eBucks are almost available for December which is what I plan on using to acquire Skyrim [PC].
Just a quick question... How are the bugs going? Or rather, is it less buggy than Fallout? Because Fallout is a couple of years old already and still buggy as hell with multiple CTDs every hour... Based on the Fallout games, I assume Bethesda isn't really into fixing bugs once released. I haven't played any of the older Elder Scrolls games, but I heard somewhere that Skyrim is using the same engine as Fallout NV.
Think I'm gonna take a break from skyrim. Maybe will pick it up again when they actually start fixing gameplay bugs and start improving/balancing the game a bit more so that there's an actual challenge to be had.
i have finally given up on skyrim :-( the dizzying number of missions and the fact that far too many NPC's shared the same voice eventually put me off. as much as i loved it, i am beginning to feel that Dark Souls had a better approach. far fewer NPC's, but so much more engaging and interesting
Lol yeah, I agree they should have used more voice actors. About a quarter of all the nord npc's sound like arnold schwarzenegger. And all the nord women sound hot. Also, where are all the fat people?
gotta agree with dizzy-ness. i cant play longer than 5 minutes and my head starts spinning like crazy. game was cool but yea think im tired of the game now.
Is this game worth purchasing? it's either this or assassins creed revalations. :D
I'm trying to focus on the main quest only.
The game is still awesome! If you are bored of it, you must have played it to death in the first few days :) I play 10 hours per week, and can't wait to get home today so I can finish the mission I am currently on.
Definitely worth buying!
Brotherhood was the first game I played in the AC series-I didn't quite get the story, but I still loved the game. In Brotherhood, Ezio has clear rivals (Borgias) whereas in Revelations, his just helping people out, while trying to get the keys and the girl
BTW: did anyone else lose their wife in Skyrim?
Haha, i completely forgot about my vrou :P
I love assassins creed as well, played all that were on PC so far and from the looks of things Revelations doesn't match up story wise to the previous games
