Ok, so a mate of mine has both a PC and Xbox and is wondering whether he should get skyrim for the xbox or pc?
If it was BF3, I'd say PC for the graphics.
But skyrim?? I'm not sure.

I'd say get it for Console hey!! I mean you can play it 3rd as well as 1st person, and it's really more up to you to decide. I myself prefer 3rd person and simulations on console and everything else on PC. :)
Mark, this one is tough...
I chose xbox, because I knew I was going to spend HOURS on this game and might as well do so from the comfort of my bed...however there are a myriad of mod tools for PC which will make this game last for ages (ask Mappy about Oblivion mods) so if you're into that kind of thing, go for pc.
I enjoy my console version very much though and I don't regret it.
Pc is the way to go.
Bugs and issues can be worked around via the console in game which is not possible with the console version.
The above mentioned should be the major contributer to his choice.
If he has a pretty decent pc, the graphics at max settings look a lot better than they do on console.
Besides games like Witcher 2, Oblivion, Skyrim are meant to be played on pc, I remember buying and playing oblivion on console and I hated it so much!!
WASD CLICK CLICK FTW!!!
Do you like mods or not? If yes, then PC.
Fristly.... post is in wrong place. Should this be in general Gaming?
Secondly - If he wants Mods, PC, if he doesn't care about Mods, Console.
its gonna look so much better on pc ... but allot of ppl like the whole 3rd person and 1st person mix but
i'd still go for PC
I've been thinking of the same thing! Every time I flip the coin it seems to land favourably for the PC although I have played Oblivion on Both PC and Xbox. It's also a question of which medium you get to spend more time with.
i.e. you may have your xd00s in the lounge and the family (wife) wants to watch series or the like then you wouldn't be able to really spend time on the game.
This is my major challenge so generally intensive games I prefer to get on the PC however that being said one should have a high-end machine to really get the value out of the graphics on the PC version and this is not a problem with the Xbox...
Oh the choices we have to make...
from a controlls point of view i think pc is the way. i tried using my xbox controller on my pc version. i just think a keyboard gives you more options. easier with saving your favourites to the number keys etc. just found the xbox controller a mission.
Then PC, obviously.
Better graphics, modability, a command console should he encounter any irreparable bugs (that are on all three platforms) and 360 controller compatibility should he feel the need to play with a controller.
Problem sorted. This ain't rocket science :p
Definitely PC IMHO
Id say console im annoyed at the pc menu use a mouse here and arrows here wont be an issue if you have the Xbox adapter thing for the PC but i think it would be nice on console unless you want mods and that.
Go for PC, you have access to a console and mods also, if you want that "in your bed" feeling that consoles give you, There are a lot of 360 controllers going round that work perfectly for your PC.
(Which Ever Mod Moved this, Thank you)
Both platforms have their pro's and con's. It all boils down to your platform of choice.
With that said, Xbox 360... go go go! :P
Both of them have some advantages and disadvantages. The Xbox version is easy to play, but mods are only on pc. From what I heard the pc's User interface is bad and I think you'll need a good rig for the game and the mods/upcoming mods.
I saw the game on my brothers PC. Great to see a game in so much detail...and on the PC you also have the modding commmunity. I see some great Mods comming out. If you can go with the PC.
PC is better for everything, except that you can't easily sit on the couch while playing.
Of course Skyrim looks better on the PC. Buying the monster rig to run it is out of my price range, so I'll buy and XBox.
I would never buy this kind of game for a console, just doesnt feel right playing it with a console remote. Also as stated above, bugs can be ironed out a lot quicker than on the xbox and the amount of mods available makes it just that much more worth it. Besides if he really wants to play on an xbox remote, just grab the xbox remote for windows and the PC version has the options to use an xbox control. I got an xbox remote for PC but havent tested it yet with skyrim.
awesome, yea lol can imagine aiming with the bow to be the hardest and thats why i havent bothered cos atm thats all i use ingame.
interesting to know that menu navigation/inventory management is faster. maybe i should give it a go anyway...
Apparently the mods on PC make graphics look a LOT better.. Dont know myself - Love my Xbox too much. No updated graphics card every 3rd day
As an update to this, he's ordered it for his xbox.
Thanks for all the help and comments.
I'm playing it on PC with an XBOX 360 controller.
