Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior
Got it off the Steam summer sale for around $3, so I can't really complain. It feels solid and was on par with CoD / BF single player campaigns & runs off the CryEngine3. It was all about the sniping / sneaking / stealth kills and less about other crap.
The game was a bit short, but for its price, it didn't drag itself out. Bullet-time for far off headshots were similar to those found in sniper elite, except this game comprised of more than 3 colours and had a range of differing settings. I give it a solid 8/10.

Deadpool....
a 5/10, the combat is awful the story isn't very good, the humor is not long-lasting....AVOID if possible ;)
The Walking Dead
Brilliant game! I really enjoyed it from the first episode to the sad conclusion of the fifth episode.
Pros:
Great, emotionally involving story
Believable characters you actually care about
The decisions you make have significant consequences
The stats at the end of each episode that show what percentage of players who made the same decisions as you is a nice touch
Art style is great
Cons:
Had difficulty getting the game to run (had to fiddle with compatibility options in windows)
Occasional delays in scene changes
One of the best adventures I've had in a game. 9/10
Tomb Raider
Wow... Graphics, gameplay and everything was pretty awesome. I didn't try the multiplayer bit (seems they are trying to force MP in everywhere these days), but the SP story was great. I think this was one of the games that actually needed an origins type of game of how it all started. The original basically just started in a cave already with no background.
Some negatives:
- Quicktime events... although, there were very few of them
- Autosave... While not exactly the same as checkpoint saves, they only use one savegame slot and at one stage (62% complete), my game crashed and that saved game got corrupted. Luckily I prevented the corrupted saved game from uploading to the cloud and managed to recover it without losing too much progress.
- Game crashes on multitask
Overall, I'd still score this game around 8.5 out of 10.
Has anybody tried out the multiplayer component of this?
XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Quite good. I saw this game at Rage last year and thought it was interesting, but at a $60 price point, not interesting enough so I picked it up on Steam summer sale. It does have a bunch of irritations though.
- It does become repetitive later on
- Save game bug. At one point, no further progress is saved. Luckily I googled it as soon as I figured out it is happening so I didn't loose much.
- Maths are way off. (95% chance to hit... yeah right)
- Can't skip conversations or pause while computer is making moves. Found this to be really annoying sometimes.
I'll give this one a 7/10.
Kinda in the mood to play some more turn-based games now... Will maybe give Civilization some more playtime again.
Red Dead Redemption GOTY Edition.
I'm a bit late to this party but dammit this game is good!
10/10
Duck Tales Remastered - 4/10
I didn't finish it. Didn't get far into it at all, to be honest. I just get irritated playing it. The added story and cutscenes are totally superfluous. In fact, they are downright horrible.
The game play is alright, but not responsive. I had hoped the controls would match up to the likes of Spelunky and Super Meat Boy. The game is challenging, but not because the challenges require you to develop some platforming skills, but that the controls are fighting against you more than anything.
The music is silly and doesn't really fit the theme of the game.
The dialogue is just cringe worthy. I recently watched a few duck tales episodes and they were actually quite nice. Sure, it's a children's show - but the dialogue and writing there wasn't treating it's audience like a bunch of dumb kids. I think the original Duck Tales actually catered to an audience of children who were able to think at a slightly higher level.
Anyway. This game was a total disappointment.
