Hey guys quick question
i'm still busy with planning my new pc after the old one got wrecked
i have 2x 250gb and 1x 120gb 7200rpm drives and i want to replace my old 120
with a 150 velociraptor in the rebuild.
what i want to know is do i need to make all the drives the high speed ones or just the primary drive where windows will be installed?
Just the primary usually, cause that is the one you wnat to access information on the fastest... The other dont necessarily have to be that fast as they are for information only and not always accessed, i assume.
Depends what you use the drives for and if you require rapid access speeds on all of them. Personally I would load the OS on the fastest drive and if it has limited capacity I would only load the things I use most frequently (that require the highest performance)

the weird thing is everyone says ssd is meant to be safer... i just have experience of failures :/
I'd prefer getting an SSD to a spindle drive simply from a heat perspective, but then not everyone is running 6 hdds in their case...
And yeah tank, the fastest drive should be your OS drive. That'll definitely make the most difference in your life.
Solitaire loads like a dream of a SSD drive :P
