Music bringing back gaming memories

I don't know about you guys, but I often used to listen to whatever music I was getting into at the time while playing games (usually on a walkman), and nowadays hearing a certain song will bring back flashbacks of the game I was into at the time.

For instance, Led Zeppelin brings back memories of Tetris and Ice Climber, The Pixies brings back memories of Tomb Raider (and reading The Hobbit), Guns 'n Roses - anything from Use Your Illusion 1 makes me think of Doom. I remember a mix tape, one song that I recall was Pepper by Butthole Surfers, that brings back memories of Pagan Ultima 8, and maybe Diablo as well come to think of it.

On a similar note, hearing Fortunate Son by CCR causes flashbacks from Vietnam (BFBC2 Vietnam), but that's because it was the into music when you select the Vietnam menu.

Does that happen to anyone else?

the Prodigy album Music for the jilted generation still brings up a lot of Mechwarrior 2 memories ^_^

Cant beat the good old music that played on the radio in gta san andreas.. Every time i hear one of those songs my childhood comes flooding back ... *looks into the sky dramatically*

Used to listen to a lot of (early) In Flames while playing Crazy Taxi. Whenever I hear something from those albums all I see is Crazy Taxi.

Yeah. Heroes of Might & Magic hotseat and Queen is a combination forever burned into my memory. Good times.

Ring of fire brings back memories of playing san andreas for hours:D

For me it's Rockafeller Skank by Fatboy Slim. It was one of the songs on rotation for Fifa 99, and to this day, every time I hear that song I can't help but think of Fifa 99, and I get a big itch to start playing some Fifa again

It was an in-game song, but Temptation by The Tea Party brings back memories of Road Rash (it was always on repeat, I liked that song the most) :)
