Besides the awesome prizes in competitions, I love reading up on the articles posted on the main page. They are very well written and informative. What I like is the articles aren't simply just reviewing games, but providing information on ISP's and game related content, etc. All this keeps me coming back to this site daily.
I joined the MyGaming forum at first because of the competitions, but now it's just more to get news about whats happening in my favourite games and to see what SA ppl's are playing online games and where, the members of this forum are really well informed and share an abundance of information, I don't post alot because I only post when I feel it will make a contribution to the thread, but be sure, I skulk around these forums alot. :D

I was pretty much exclusively a console player until my arm was twisted to start playing PC games. I've been following various gaming sites these past few years, but none have brought the same kind of fun and enterainment that the folks at MyGaming deliver every day.
An hour doesn't go buy in a day where i dont quickly come and have a peek at whats new in the world of gaming, and having a "local is lekker" vibe about the site makes it even better :D
I just have to say to the guys of MyGaming to keep up the hard work! it's a really awesome site.
I visit Mygaming everyday cuz it's where I get all my latest gaming news! As for joining the forums well... who can resist these awesome competitions!!
I joined MyG from the iGame community, where I heard about the site.
Always someone with a helping hand when you get stuck ingame or need a techie to answer a quick question.
I keep frequenting the site to follow up on new games as well as tips and info regarding upcoming titles and current affairs.
It is a great site with awesome articles and congrats on your achievements.
As a long time member on Mybb, since 2007, my nick is Penquin on Mybb, it was only natural to join Mygaming, great community and great news. Congrats on the achievement Mygaming!
I joined rather recently as I have always been browsing the MyBB forums. But this is a great site in terms of game releases, rallying the community and of course the quirky sense of humour that the writers have. This really is a fantastic portal, and I'm sure that it will grow in leaps and bounds. Gaming in SA has a long way to go in terms of reaching the levels of Europe and North America, but if we can use this site as a springboard to try and reach that level then why not. But this is favourite in my browser at the top of the list :D Oh and the awesome competitions too :D :D
Mmm Been a member here from the start, Would never leave..The gaming news is pretty much up to date.
The fact that you guys have Tarryn writing for you is also a big +, Love her work and her sometimes whack crazy sense of humor.
Then there is the fact that no local online gaming site/forum can compete with MyGaming which is why I have made it my gaming home :D Also love the mods and most of the members xD
One of the only forums I frequent where they actually value the members input which is why I think My gaming will continue to grow and continue to be the best local gaming news forum in SA.
i actually do not know how it happened. I got an email one day from my broadband i think(after a couple i overlooked) and saw diablo 3 competition, than joined up as a result. Soon after i saw' hey they have game trailers here and i can get hardware advice) So i stuck as a result since my pc was also on the fritz and was able to get a solution after that. No point winning pc games when your pc is fried. lol
It started with MyGaming's competitions. Most people like free stuff. But even that pales eventually.
What keeps me coming back [when I can] are the people [*cough* OmegaFenix *cough*] on this forum, and Lady Thunderaxe's columns.
Oh-and the reviews are handy too.
I joined after friends told me about the site. I was already a member of the local PS3ZA community and MyGaming promised something a bit more multi-platform orientated. What keeps me coming back are the awesome competitions, the informative members and just the general wealth of information that can be accessed either by reading through existing threads or simply by creating a new one and asking a question. :)

I joined after seeing it advertised on MyBB. I joined right in the beginning of it all and it felt like home straight away. Good news and articles and best of yet great people. I have made some great friends off MyGaming (yes in real life) which for me is priceless.

To be honest I joined after hearing about the diablo comp you guys had a few weeks back, but I've been coming back to read about the different gaming related posts and other forum topics :)
I've always tried to avoid forums to be perfectly honest, but something about this forum keeps me coming back.
I may not comment on everything, but I like to read about the topics that you guys and this community post about.

Admittedly I was also lured into joining for the goodies and giveaways. However, after the first competition came and went and I was unsuccessful in grabbing whatever it was that was up for grabs, I found myself coming back to argue with local hotheads about the state of the gaming industry, and to check out all the interesting tidbits dug up by the mygaming community.
Currently, the competitions are a big draw for me to visit the website, but as soon as I've checked the competitions threads, I start browsing news and forums to see what the state of gaming is at the moment.
I joined mygaming to find out the latest local gaming news, and when iGame joined the forum as well made things evens better ... for me at least :p
Ok so it all started way back in 2009, I joined MyBB and found myself being trolled in TK of all places TK!!!! It was the first forum I had ever joined. Then along came MyGaming which I decided since it's the sister site and it's brand new, I joined in and found that I was number 80 on the member list WHOOP WHOOP!!! Top 100 baby!! :D
I've been coming back almost every single day since then and I don't think I'll ever leave, the great vibe brings me back every day and I'm glad to be a member of this forum. I've also made many friends and hosted many Meet and Greets. Everyone I have met from here are your average people with great personalities and I'm glad to be associated with everyone (despite your various characteristics :p).
I'll also add that in the past I would rarely read the articles posted up, but now I find myself chilling with two windows open just to see the updated articles as well as the forums in another tab.
Gratz on the #1 position James and Team, you guys deserve it!!! :D

I joined this site to find more local online friends for gaming. I did!
I keep coming back though because there is strangely enough a really good following of comic book readers and we chat about comics often.

I was at first just a lurker at mybroadband and then i came across the gaming section where i found several chats about new hardware whether low range or top of the range and really helpful discussions about the latest games. I hadnt been into IT for a while and getting back into the latest games and technology was really helpful here at mygamingmybroadband. You have always had great competitions on the side and the one time i was chosen as a winner lol my internet was broken and missed out but guess it happens:p

I have been and am still religiously visiting/browsing/reading the articles and reviews on MyGaming daily for years now, but initially never registered; I didn't feel obligated to respond to thread posts or comment on articles and was merely an observer/reader. Eventually, the fact that I couldn't partake in competitions forced me to register. ;) Since then, I have been part of this awesome community and from what I witnessed on other forums, this community is truly unique and big up to the admins/authorities/writers for keeping MyGaming an awesome place to visit!!

I joined within the first few days of the site going live, it was small but different and I thought what the hell, if the people suck, I'll just leave. The people didn't suck, I had some good times just wasting away the time in TK and connecting with other gamers and shit talkers and at the end of the day, no matter what, I am glad that MyGaming played it's part in that. To 'The First', glad I know you on the different levels I do and to the site, well done on being top and providing a gaming resource like no other. It visit MyBB daily and saw the Gaming Section - I often looked at Gamespot and IGN and the like, however many of the articles didn't take the South Africa situation into account, lack of speedy internet. MyGaming also publishes the great specials which are awesome for keen gamers who can't pay the high prices! Keep up the good work, and congratz on being no 1.!
So I joined mygaming on the first day I got the net. And I loved it. What keeps me coming back is the community and james sexy looks bwawaww :p But all seriousness its because its a very community driven website.
I've always been one to support the underdog - and in an environment where you have NAG, PS3ZA, xbox & those kind of forums to contend with, myGaming had a massive boss fight ahead of itself & being the 32nd person to register on the site, I've watched them grow from strength to strength.
The reason why I've stayed around for over 3 years is because myGaming is a prime example of an ACTUAL gaming community brought together by decent articles and a professional team who aren't going to work each day, but are driven & excited by the gaming news they deliver & actually LISTEN to what their member base have to say/need/want.
What makes myGaming great is that they wouldn't even have to give away a prize in order for us to write these testimonials about them. Keep it up team!
Joined mygaming after a friend linked an article to me on irc :) After that i have been lurking and sometimes even posting here every day, reading some of the discussions etc.
I always enjoy supporting the SA communities, all of them (except COD) and will continue to do so. Also, congratz mygaming! :)
I was browsing the internet, looking up my favorite topic: games. I noticed that Batman Arkham Asylum got some high review scores, but I wanted to know what was right with the game and what was wrong with it. I came across this website and I knew that I'd found what I was looking for. At the start of the review they scored aspects individually; visuals, story, sound, longevity, originality and the most important of all- fun factor. So many websites and magazines forget this, but Mygaming has not. These people clearly knew their stuff, so I bought the game soon after that day and I have no regrets, because I was introduced to a great website.
A few weeks later, I joined the forum. My forum name was a no brainer. I chose it to be Batman's trusty sidekick. I've been here for about a year now (others have been here since the beginning), but I've never felt more at home. I come to Mygaming every day that I can. It's very community driven, user friendly and the people are great. I'd like to congratulate Mygaming on having the largest SA readership and I'd like to thank you for such an awesome website and helping me to decide what games I should and should not buy, providing local and international news and giving info about prices and specials (and much more!).
First step: South Africa, next step: the world!!
