If you don't have a cd Key on your ligit game you got to go trough those steps they explain.

Now I just need a better pc to run witcher 2 smoothly.

Just did this with my retail copy of The Witcher, and my Steam copy of The Witcher 2. It works for both :)

I did this a while back, still having problems trying to update the game though so it can't install. Most unfortunate since I really want to play this one again.
