Cash only is a great rule of thumb. I don't mind letting them pick up my stuff, as long as I get a nice look at their mug and car before I open the sidewalk gate :D

A friend of mine here in Lynnwood sold his Pearl drumkit for R14 000 a while ago. He met up with the person and the transaction went well...until three hours later, when the payment was reversed and the person disappeared off the map.
I prefer cash, in a place that suits me. I dislike meeting in a public spot, asking a person to come to your house usually also deters scammers. (And I will not let any person into my house, so no dodgy fella is going to surprise me).
In my humble opinion if you sell it on a site like this, you are more likely to get a decent, reliable and honest sale from us here. :)
