The next-generation "Ivy Bridge-E" lineup, which will carry processor model number series Core i7-49xx, aren't due until the third quarter of 2013. This will probably be my next platform,1336 first gen i7 hasn't bottlenecked my PC yet even all these years later.

Out of interest, what generation of the "Core" line are we on? I still have an i7 920 D0 from a few years back - 3 maybe 4 years?

I have the same chip, still goes well, we on the 3rd gen now and that will be with 4th.
