Kinect? Really? (I'm asking, not being sarcastic)... I thought it was such a great hit.
I myself have the PS Move which works awesome with Heavy Rain and a couple of other games.
I'm with Viper on this, I think Kinect is a great party accessory to use when you're drinking with friends and decide to add to the enjoyment. I'm pretty sure Wenz will also agree with me :p, getting pissed and playing Kinect just makes it even that more enjoyable. :)
I was really disappointed with Spore.
I bought the game after all the hype around it, and it seemed so cool, but then just fell flat.
Thinking about it I'm getting angry, I so wanted that game to be amazing.
I loved Brutal Legend! :D
Looks like I'm not the only disappointed with spore.
Kinect is just plain kak. I tried it with a few different games and it just doesn't seem very good at picking up movement with any accuracy.
The Move is way better in terms of getting it to do exactly what you want, but then again you're forced to dance around with what is ostensibly a large, glowing dildo.
Farcry 2 was so so terrible. I hated it so much.
I own(ed) Far Cry 2. Love it even. But having to pop pills or die ... Or checkpoints resetting enemy AI every 5 minutes was a MAJOR pain.
Also, Emptying an entire clip into an enemy (headshots) before he dies was just the cherry on the cake :(
Good to know. I remember that some people favoured the Kinect over the Move because you had no need for controls in hand, which is why I was surprised to find kinect on the list.
I am however very happy with the PS Move. I just need to get more games designed for it. Would have been great if they made the Uncharted series compatible with it cause the PS3 controller is a bitch to get used to (coming from a Mouse + Keyboard background).

Peter Molynuex : "It's definitely not on rails"
Game arrives
It's on-rails.
...and no-one was surprised.
Add another one to the 'far, far, far worse with kinect' pile. Like the review says, kinect is still just a tech demo which only basically works for one type of game, the dance/party game. That's isn't really something that a company should be promoting so heavily as to be almost the definition of their console experience. As for the rest of the list a totally agree with all those games being disappointments, although I might add Rage to the list, at least personally I had high hopes for the game.
I agree with everything except Far Cry 2. The checkpoints were annoying sure but the game wasn't a let down, I think every reviewer loved it at the time too.
Had many a good LAN with it. ah LAN's......
I know Diablo 3 is still a good game, but wasn't anybody also just a bit disappointed with it? Played it for 1 month and then just not so much anymore.. Diablo 2 I still played till last year in comparison "whistling:
need for speed the RUN ! i have never seen such schitte ai in my life (until i played that game)
Doom 3. It was just to powerful for me. All too often I had the feeling there were things crawling around behind me. 15 minutes and then I installed.
I thought Far Cry 2 was shit, simply because it was shit. There was nothing good about it. Ninja-respawning militia checkpoints aside, it's simply a very bad game. Gunplay is awful. Gameplay even worse. Spend hours driving to and from objectives for what basically amounts to 'shoot this' or fetch that. Ninja-AI that can spot you 1km away through a bush, a wall and a vehicle, and then shoot you from there as well.
On top of that, you've got shallow characters as supposed 'companions' and some arsehole got it into his head that it might be fun to cripple the player with malaria, removing a large part of his freedom seeing as he constantly has to do missions to ensure he doesn't run out of malaria pills. Add to that a remarkably shitty plot that nobody gives a crap about and you understand why I feel Far Cry 2 is one of my worst purchases in recent years.
Nah, Doom 3's scare factor wore off about an hour or two into the game. Pretty soon you started to notice a pattern and started recognizing which doors and areas were monster closets even before the monsters popped out. The game also dragged on for way, way too long.
Why isn't Brink on this list? I can think of few other games that should also be on this list.
I don't think there was much hype for Brink, it was pretty low key. Also it didn't do so badly. It wasn't great but it was alright.
Home Front, Dead Island, Hard Reset and what about Rage.
Yeah, Spore was a huge letdown. It had such potential.
I honestly enjoyed Far Cry 2, it had it's problems, but all-in-all I really enjoyed it. I didn't even mind the pill popping.
It was the first game I played that required you to sleep, and that was shit for me back then, but now I could boot it up and have fun.
LOL I have to agree with Far Cry 2.... SNOAR!
Yeah, I don't think many people were actually hyped for Brink. Most people knew it was going to be a B-grade game from the start.
The major let-down of Brink was the technical issues. I honestly haven't had as much issues playing a game as I've had with Brink. The technical issues render it unplayable for many people today still.
I got mine up and running, but had endless sound issues. Never got to play with other people as the game was dead by the time I got it, which is a pity as it didn't look too bad despite the issues.
For mind in box this might seem as fail, but use kinect outside box then not so fail any more ;)Quote:
Kinect
Basically, everything except Fruit Ninja, and Fruit Ninja is really only fun for about five minutes anyway.
It was good, but not all that good.

I'd like to add GW2 and erm Borderlands2. Neither really brought something new, especially gw2 which is just the JKD*** of what currently is...
***google and applied thought is your friend ;)
