Project Hell

I don't know if this has been posted/mentioned before; I searched but couldn't find anything.

From Techland, the people who gave us Dead Island, comes a new dark fantasy hack 'n slash game currently called Project Hell. Apparently the game started out as a weapon mod for Dead Island but the company liked it so much that they created a team for it and it is now going to be a full fledged game.

The developers update their blog pretty regularly with new concept art, screenshots, etc. You can check it out at www.sharpenyouraxes.com

I for one am really excited about this. I loved the first person melee combat in Dead Island and I think moving that over to a dark fantasy medieval setting will turn out to be pretty damn awesome. At the moment it seems like they are focusing on a PC version only, but they did say that console versions are possible depending on how the game is received.

Honestly when i saw the heading for this thread i thought it was going to be about development hell.

Ooh lovely. First person Diablo but without the Unicorns and Fairies. I'll take one please, although they won't be asking for our money on Kickstarter.

The developers mentioned the first Quake as part of the inspiration for this game. Add the atmosphere of that classic to Dead Island's gameplay and place the mixture in a medieval setting. Yummy. Now if only there were a way to add the odours of the period.

With their next Techland team meeting on Friday, they should seriously consider coming up with a final title for this game. "Project Hell" won't spawn millions and millions of pre-orders.
