Nvidia GT 640 for gaming

So I while back a started a thread on a budget pc of about R8000 - R10000... Boy Did my expectations get shot DOOOOWN!, As in deeper down than the darkest pits of the core of the earth. Anywho so I never got to build that pc and now I only have R4000 - R5000 to spend on a gaming pc and I was wondering if the GT 640 or should I look at something like 7750/7770 of must I look at something older?. I'll be using a 19" HD monitor on atleast High Settings, Max settings would be Perfect but u can't be a graphics whore if your bank balance is smaller than your year of birth :p

My previous pc, which was just under R4000. Did wonders with the new games,

I did some benchmarks on it an came up with this (note all of them were tested at maximum resolution and settings)

Skyrim- average 37FPS (1920X1080)
Crysis 2-average 28 FPS (1920X1080)
Dirt 3- average 40 FPS (1920X1080)

I used A radeon HD 6850 price- R1,600

Thought it would be a better card iMO

These are 2 good options.
You could also buy an APU setup and then just add a GPU at a later stage if that's an option.
At least the APU can game with its on board GPU.
The GT640 is horrific..not recommended for gaming at all.

I'd spend more and get AT LEAST a 650 from Nvidia, or HD 7850 from AMD.

Anything lower than that and you're gonna have a bad time.

That Intel CPU that I choose but I think the AMD build looks awesome plus its more forward compatible, seeing piledriver are using AM3 + and rumor has it so will steamroller. I also wanted to ask should I get windows 7 or spring for Windows 8

OOH!~ Forgot to mention Prices are all from www.rebeltech.co.za I am happy with windows 7, nothing windows 8 has nothing that apeals to me.

(1) Are they cheaper than wootware?

(2) I also like windows 7 but i thought of buying Win8 Because itl get me some bragging rights about my pc (my current pc still has WinXP :( + the TV ad is getting into my head

I honestly do not know. I have never used wootware, by browsing through the site they don't seem to have many of the items I listed from Rebeltech, so I am assuming that Rebeltech is cheaper?

It's up to you, I myself would rather stick to Windows 7 for now.

I also saw a few things that are cheaper at rebeltech

I'll think I'll go with Windows 8, In a few years we all are going to switch anyway so i am just going to get a head start :p

The only things that are going to kick my budget in the balls is the
Windows 8 which is extra R1499 and the case that is atleast going to be R500 - R800
