some men just want to see the bread burn.
To quickly defrost frozen slices?

Because some people prefer their toast well done?
BTW, no fair in not explaining how to bypass the 10 char rule.
and the answer is obvious ... its so they can braai their meat with it later... that or i have never seen a toaster actually turn bread into a charcoal briquette

Regarding the toaster: Thinking about it, I'm not sure I know what you mean with the setting you speak of. My toaster has a volume control that makes the bread darker the louder you turn it up.
Could it be because some slices are thicker than others?
