Cyclists ignore safety measures

No, but motorists have the ability to cause greater damage. It takes nothing to wait a few seconds to find a gap and give a cyclist/s enough space when you pass. Clearly cyclists have to obey the law, but even for those who do they stand a good chance of being hit by a motorist.

PS - can you try and respond without swearing. In another thread you claim to have a great command of the English language, perhaps try and demonstrate that.

I have no qualms about cyclists who are respectful of the other users using the road. What I'm saying is those cyclists who act like assholes and think they own the road shouldn't complain when accidents happen. If you're riding three abreast on a main road you can hardly get angry when someone who is late for work has to take a dangerous gap simply because you're too churlish to show respect to motorists.

(You are aware I'm only using this much profanity because I find it humorous that an adult can be such a kvetch about something as petty as a few profane words, right?)

The use of profanity offends some and not others. Now, I prefer to avoid profanity, but sometimes profanity can help properly/better explain one's self. I do tend to swear a lot; not because of a lack of vocabulary, but, as a means to bring across a point.

Idiots especially (know a few)! Sometimes one has to be very explicit and to the point, in order for them to understand.

Probably irritates me more than offends me. It would be hypocritical of me to say that I do not swear but in a public forum (sure we all hide behind our anonymous persona) there really isn't any need for it when you have time to type, edit then post. I understand my opinion on this will be in the vast minority.

Really, it just comes down to respecting other road users, whether you're driving/riding a car, bicycle, motorbike, scooter, truck, combi, bus, truck, horse cart, tractor, whatever. People are just way too aggressive on the road.

Absolutely agree, we'll said!

I think the same rule of thumb applies to cyclists as with motor vehicle drivers. You get idiots in both categories. I ALWAYS cycle with my helmet and I always look out for idiot drivers, no matter where I ride or cross.

If you're driving a bike without protective head gear, you're just as negligent as a driver driving without his seat belt, for instance. And yes, Europe is much more cycling friendly, but on the other hand, Europe is much more civilized than this country would be in another 100 years.

Just be safe on the roads, whether you're on a bike or in a car, it's that simple. If you have an unreasonable opinion about anything regarding people's lives, you need to go seek professional help.
