Already planning on milking the cow to death... But then again, they might actually be good

JJ did a good job with reboot of star trek, maybe he can put the jar jar mishaps to bed and finally make some SW that's suppose to happen before or after episode 4-6.
No one man should be allowed to direct both the Star Trek and Star Wars franchises.....
Fanboi rage in t-minus two years and counting...
Wonder where in the time line they're going to put the movies? The prequels have been done so will they try and make them after the defeat of the emperor? The book trilogy after featuring admiral thrawn would make good movies but they would have to do what was done in the new star trek and recast all the original characters. Maybe why they picked JJ Abrahams for the project?
So far only the "spin off" movies will be prequels. On the drawing board for prequels are Yoda and Boba Fett specific movies.
The story of the new films WILL NOT follow any of the Star Wars novels, tho I wouldn't have minded if the followed the NJO story line with the invasion of the Yuuzhan Vong.... a casualties and losses list that contains almost 365 trillion beings including three big name characters sounds like an epic encounter.
The original cast of Star Wars all but confirmed that they will be onboard for the sequels.
I think I'm doing a StarWars mararthon in my next holiday! :D
I am going to remain positive and hope for the best. I feel really starved of decent sci fi and this might just be the beginning of great things.
But I'd really love to see another Star Trek follow up by Abrams.
*evil eye*
Star Trek: Into Darkness is coming out 17 May 2013 :p
But I understand what your saying. We're not getting the best Sci-Fi these days. Which is another reason why I'm looking forward to Elysium by Neill Blomkamp, he's the only one who's managed to get me excited for sci-fi these days.
