It's supposed to be but I've gotten a free extension for whatsapp weeks before it expired :).

Mine just gets extended every year. And, if all else fails, I'll just resort back to Mxit.

Never, will I ever go back to Mxit. I would rather just go back to sms' then mxit. Mxit was the one that started the chat addiction here. I am slowly weening myself off Watsapp and will probably delete that soon enough and just go on to BBM to keep in contact with my mom etc.
