I think people just listen to these kinds of music to seem tough or badass w/e.
Personally, I prefer old school rock and metal(Zeppelin, old Metallica, Black Sabbath, ACDC, Iron Maiden, Rolling Stones, Eagles etc) The lyrics of a song are very meaningful to me, so I don't I really enjoy those screaming, grunting slash-slash-burn-burn type songs.
