They aren't advertising them as new features for iOS. They also had multitasking and notifications behind Android. They just do it in their own time and it's a new feature for iOS users.

Bloody hell I didn't explain myself very well there did I? Sorry. They are new features for iOS. They're not claiming that nobody ever did true multitasking before.

As an apply fan i wonder what took them so long...perhaps market pressure?

I think that yes but also the changeover from Scott Forstall to Jony Ive in December set this change in motion.
