I fall in the extreme minority when it comes to this specific point.....

My thoughts on paying R700 to rent a game from MS......? I don't care......

I have never sold/traded any of my games and the only game I ever bought secondhand was Uncharted. I don't care that I would have to connect to the internet once every 24 hours to play the game I bought or that I may have to connect once every hour to play a game that I've borrowed from my friend.

I also won't have a problem when publishers incorporate 3rd party programs for games coming on PS4 that will basically do exactly the same as what Microsoft is doing automatically. Think Ubisofts uPlay or EAs Origin...... built into every game the publishers deem necessary. Cause that is what's gonna happen..... Sony themselves have said this, don't let anyone else fool you into believing other wise.

And, like it was on PC, it will come crashing down. UPlay ended up having to scrap its hardcore DRM and Origin still remains irrelevant because most people don't bother with it.

Your argument essentially boils down to, "So what? Nothing I can do about it." That's precisely the mentality that allows things like this to happen to the gaming industry in the first place :)

I'm surprised to see how nonchalant people are about MS shitting all over consumer rights.

I hope you guys know that the online-only requirements are not just for verification purposes, but also because they intend to make some/all games online-only. Titanfall will be handling all its physics and AI calculations server-side.

I'm not surprised at all. The console manufacturers build up a fan base that are so biased toward their chosen system that they will end up defending it no matter what they end up throwing at them.

Yep, apathy is the killer in this scenario. Also, hope you Saffers with lines that cannot handle server side physics happening or having your line down due to Telkom for a week, are ready to suffer willingly.

Actually I honestly don't care.... not because there's nothing I can do about it, but because it doesn't effect me. I don't sell the games I've bought and I don't buy 2nd hand games. Like I said, I fall in the extreme minority when it comes to this specific point.....

That's not to say that I don't understand why the people are so pissed off about it. I completely understand. And if I was used to buying and selling 2nd hand games or didn't have an always on internet connection I would be on their side...... but I don't, and I do, so I'm not.

It's still early days and we'll have to wait and see how it's going to go down. My thought is that it'll be like Steam. If ever there was an example of how to do it right it would be Steam.

This is probably the only thing that makes me worry a bit. If my 8MB line can't handle it or if it happens to go down this will be an issue.

For MP games, sure it's the same, but for SP games to be online as well is the kicker for me and where it differs.
