Fauresmith in the Free State has been without water all weekend, even though it was hosting an annual horse show, the DA said on Sunday.

The Democratic Alliance had told the municipality about the Annual Fauresmith Endurance Marathon for horses which was to be attended by 2500 people, Free State DA leader Patricia Kopane said in a statement.

However, nothing was done to ensure the town had water, she said.
