The Witcher 3 DRM free on PC.

Never expected anything less from CDPR. :D

We’ve fiddled with DRM in the past (Oh boy! How young and naïve we were;)) and that’s enough. Lesson learned.

Having said that, I’d like to thank you for your continuous support. You’ve bought six million copies of the Witcher games so far. Whoo-hoo! Let’s celebrate. Here, have some cake!

UPDATE:

It’ll be on Steam; the team isn’t going to exclude that community by any means. Gamers have a choice in where they buy their games, but where CDPR does have control — like GOG.com — there will be absolutely no DRM.

No doubt in my mind that this game will sell incredibly well but yeah CD Project red definitely deserve any and all the support they get, Witcher 2 was a masterpiece and I have no doubt 3 will mostly surpass 2.

Totally agree with you though the ending felt a bit rushed. Did the massive update change that? I was on a really small capped account at the time.

I would love to play this game when it comes out but my poor laptop will not be able to handle it unfortunately. The DRM-free move will probably be the most significant industry change for gaming and for overall game sales. The fact that you do not need to jump through endless security hoops in order to actually get down and play the game is a good thing. Piracy is with us unfortunately and they have made life difficult for those of us that actually pay for product.
