Microsoft prepares to unveil its next-generation graphics API at GDC in March
It will be interesting to see what hardware and software requirements are needed to make use of the new API.
Seems the next step for DirectX is to provide a platform for all graphic card chipsets to work on, hence the inclusion of tablet and phones in the announcement. Will be very interesting to see how they will incorporate the high level PC/Console level tools to phone and tablet developers. I'm not sure, but was DirectX 11 not available to mobile developers?
Yay, hopefully I can now skip windows 8 and DX 11.2
