I did not go for an extended warranty myself, the most that will go wrong with a PS4 is A) HDD fails - buy a replacement or B) The Laser fails and Part Serve replaces it. Either way it will probably cost about R900 if you take it in. option A would be much cheaper to buy a laptop HDD, a 1TB is R900~ incl. postage and VAT. Then just replace it yourself.

Agree full heartedly. Having a lot of fun with Destiny and this is only Beta. Really anticipating the full release.

I never went with an extended warranty, I wasn't even aware of one. I got mine from FNB but I concur with Glordit on this. Not much to actually go wrong. One suggestion I would make is to get a deal that has 2x controllers. These things tend to get dropped and so forth, just having that spare is a little piece of mind that you don't have to fork out another R900 when having to buy a new one (also, you'll always have one fully charged).

Definitely going to pick up Destiny, need to play more Watch Dogs though, to many games to little time =/

Anyone here get Abe yet? I'm considering it.

I know the Xbox beta only started on the 23'rd, but it only lasts till the 27'th.

I actually pre-ordered mine on the PSN store, and then cancelled it. =P

I got my Collectors Edition on pre-order at BT.

I found out why people hated the pvp, if you don't play as a team of 2+ you will get raped come 2+ vs 1.
First light (moon) has many areas outside of the buildings that you can hide from snipers and vehicles - most importantly every single capture point can be accessed without ever stepping outside, this makes it so much faster and you get into some hectic firefights. My shotgun kills skyrocketed after a few rounds of play.

It's getting really good reviews around the net from what I have seen so far.

Super excited for TLOU it will definitely keep me busy until way after september along with Destiny. New semester has started and as well as doing GIS systems I got about 5+ novels to read for English. Going to have to cook up a spreadsheet to balance my extremely limited gaming time.

Also if you haven't got it yet - GET STRIDER! IT'S FREE! Seriously it's a awesome platformer (downloading myself after I played it on a friends PS4).

Yea the only thing I have seen that uses it well is the play room, but I dont think that will keep you occupied very long

I got home on Friday last week to a PS4 Bundle 2 remotes and Injustice :love: The mrs picked one up at Makro for a little surprise!

Pre ordered TLOU from Raru this morning, they have said il have it on Friday, just in time for the weekend! :D

Got to say I am a bit disappointed in the visuals from Injustice, but i can understand its a PS3 port... Has a similar experience with a Star wars game port from PS2 - PS3 when i got mine...

I cant wait to get my hands on the likes of The Order, Shadow of Mordor, Batman, Evolve, yho... the list goes on...

Wanted to ask, is it possible to play movies and things through the PS4 yet? I seem to remember them saying you couldnt at launch, but would be an added patch... Ideally i want to stream stuff from my PC...

At the moment there is no DLNA support, so you won't be able to play movies or music from a storage device, yet.

Just a side note: Games are not region locked, Blu Rays and DVD's are. (I have a couple DVD's and BD's from USA/Japan) I tested a Killzone from France for a customer and it worked perfectly.

I must say I have been playing War Thunder and I love it I have always been a fan of World war 2 fighter games since Battle of Britain came out on the pc a hundred years ago.

DLNA is apparently coming early 2015.

I normally go with the three month sub, more bang for buck than a month and lasts a bit longer. Obviously the more you go the more you save.

So what other titles are out there that I need to look at, PSN Store or retail ?
I need to get something to tie myself over until Destiny and the coming months.

Iv got to say that there are quite a small amount of games available at the moment... I was considering the new Metal Gear Solid... But i read the game is like an hour and a half long...

Yup, got it on Vita after playing on PC. It's friggin awesome! Has this addictive "just one more run" thing. But for me, the main hook is the constant incremental progression. Unlike the fact that even if my current dude is buggered, he can still get enough gold to leave "inheritance" to the kids for castle upgrades :)

Wow! This game is insanely difficult. I would rather see the continuous You Died screen of DS. But enjoying it.

Personally, I think they designed it that way. You need to grind a little in order to upgrade your gear and state to be able to get further. I managed to kill first boss, Khidr :)

Dude this game is the shit. I have been playing non stop since Thursday. Killed the first boss. And there is now like a matrix version of him.

Don't think it's specifically a matrix version of him, I think your character has a trait called "The One" where everything has this matrix like look

I was also watching some The Crew gameplay last night and they compared it to Rivals and that Rivals' driving/handling mechanics were more stable than The Crew. I was surprised.

yeah I've seen very mixed reviews for Rivals. some love it and some hate it. maybe rather take that money and save it for drive club

wahahaha.... indeed it helps.
Was playing TLoU last night and at a critical junction my screen went blank and noted for me to plug in my controller. My mate had borrowed my second one, which I normally keep charged and change between the two.

... needless to say, I had to sit on the floor and game while it charged =P
