Going next gen? When and why?

So... E3 is here and Microsoft, Sony and Ubisoft have shone us what they have to offer and...

It blew me away. I am really impressed with what was shown and it really gets me excited for the next gen console titles to come.

It is going to be a bumper year for gaming and 2015 is going to rock especially with the release of some massive titles.

My thoughts thou on upgrading from my current console (PS3) to next gen is that I will be waiting till next year before I take the plunge. I feel that there are not enough next gen exclusive (platform specific e.g. PS4 and Xbox one) titles out for me to really take advantage of a PS4. Most of the titles coming out now is cross platform and this means that the PS4 and Xbox One versions will suffer as a result of that. I will rather wait for the Uncharted 4's and The Divisions to come and blow me away with their spectacular graphics and game play.

I'm also waiting to see what the Xbox One looks like and feels like when it comes out in September in SA before I make my final 2015 choice. :)

So, what's your thoughts? You going next gen this year?

Sure, PC is always next (current) gen, so I'm good. :p

Already upgraded to a PS4 in February, and just completed upgrading my PC last month (just a bit more ram left to get). So I'm ready for the next-gen goodies :D. Reasons being, I like to play a game on release. I hate waiting for things, and the development time is long enough without me needing to stretch it out longer while I wait for a price drop on the console/game.

Already gone next gen, with PS4, would have gone with the PS4 even if the Xbone was out here.

PC is still my main platform though.

My PC is at a level where I can run anything that's out at the moment at max settings. But in terms of "next-gen" consoles, I'm going to buy an Xbox One for Forza 5 and Horizon 2. Why? Because it's my absolute favourite gaming franchise and I have to play the games.

I think me and Neo will be the only one's sitting with Xbox One's come September, as I'm also going to get mine for Forza 5 and Horizon 2. But after what I've seen Microsoft is bringing, that won't be all I get on it.

You have to choose which games you like playing, and on which platform you like. That will determine if you should go "next"-gen or not

I have a gaming PC already, but got the PS4 on day 1 when it launched.

I was actually watching e3 for microsofts conference, to see if they could sell me on an Xone. Weirdly though I came out thinking I now want a Wii-u. So will most likely buy that when those e3 games launch (hopefully the price will have dropped).

Mmmm, still to expensive for me. I have been playing a lot of PS2 though. Not joking.
All this next gen amazingness that gets shoved in our face all the time gets to me sometimes, so I just rebel and go retro for a while.
