You don't play your origin in me and the only real difference it made was one quest. From what I know the DAO's has a much bigger influence throughout the game.Quote:

They mention it in the odd sentence but it doesn't have a real effect. In dao merchants and people will treat you different if you are a noble human or dwarf and treat you like dirt if you are an elf.Quote:

Agh ok :) I'll have to play it myself when it comes out eventually :)
To add to that during character creation you chose from 6 origin stories and this decides how the game begins. Playing the human noble origin will be totally different from the city elf,ect.
Game sounds pretty awesome and looks great from the video's i've seen on gametrailers.con :)
Ok guys thanx to the character creation video we( us at the dao forum) have been able to find out what specialization classes are available. All of these have be unlocked by doing certain quests in the game so you can't just select them at the start of game. Obviously if you are playing the pc version there will probably be a console command but why you want to do that on a first play through I have no idea.
But here they are: Warrior:Berserker,Templar,Reaver and Champion.
Rogue:Bard,Assasin,ranger and Duelist.
Mage:Spirit healer,Arcane warrior,blood mage and shape shifter.
I have basicly decided that my first playthrough will be a human noble rogue so now I just have to decided between assasin or duelist since I want a strong fighting rogue like my swashbuckler in the bg games.

Mage first play-through (Blood Mage sounds good :D) and then Rogue for the 2nd .........
