most definitely!
I really wanna take a spin in your car.
I think that'll help me to decide on turbo or non turbo
hahaha, naah dude, you're going turbo then.
a decently built turbo car is also super reliable. I have had no major issues with mine ever.
and the sound get's your lots of attention LOOOOOOL!
my wastegate goes straight into atmosphere so its rather loud, along with my turbonetics raptor dumpvalve :)
sounds like my hol in the morning
Hyundai's can make big power.
Was done by a friend of my dad. I'll get his details and pm it to you.
Can't remember the price but it wasn't to bad.
The brakes are still the normal set up but i'll be changing to a 2004 tiburon braking set up in the near future. Break docter in Germiston will be doing the conversion on that!!
(I must admit my brakes don't last all that long):D
Must say though that the car is insanely tough!!
Takes alot of punishment!!
hehehe.
other cars wich ppl allways underestimate is daewoo.
wanna know why they make huge power, and I mean really huge?
cause it's opel :)
all opel parts! My tuner only uses daewoo 16V heads in all his builds. His 400KW, my mates 264KW, my 153KW corsa, all daewoo heads.
and some other parts too!
I've heard that opel and daewoo motors are compatible, eg the parts... ?
yes Daewoo bought all opels plans and stuff many moons ago. so their parts are 100% sharp hence me heaving a daewoo 16V head on my Corsa Gsi
Is'nt a T4/5 Turbo too big for the 1600 Elantra engine?
it is a bit big yes but it is bored out to 1800. remember ppl are running T66 turbo's off 2.0 so it's fine.
He WIIIIIIILLLL have turbo lag and lots of it, but once that boost comes in it will kick HARD
ok i know we're on the topic of ur Corsa Maplassie but dude you gotta hear the new sound i installed today its brilliant and with my small boot it actually helps with regards to base its amazing :D
Dude, you have to take me for a spin in your corsa. :D
Recaros/sparco's go for around 5K per seat in our fare country. and that's without the mounting brackets, sliding rails etc etc.
Autostyle have momo seats from time to time, and while some may question their authenticity, checking the model and part names on the seats once revealed that they are indeed the real thing.
They usually sell for around R2000 a pair.
Look each to his own, and sometimes cheaper seats are very comfy etc etc, but cheaper seats are just that, cheap, and they look the part, wich is cheap.
Man if you buy the seats pull on in one day when me and Pyro and the lot are lanning and we will isntall them for you quick quick.
153KW is not dangerous
heh, I had a Corsa 1.6 GSi - 1st car I ever bought. 2 months afterwards I rolled it on loose gravel on the road coming back from CT :( I was amazed that neither myself or my boet had a single scratch on us afterwards. I DEFINITELY wouldn't want to have undergone all of that in a citi golf.
Anyway, I now have the 4 door 1.8 GSi ... it's very slow for it's engine size and doesnt feel nearly as nippy as the 1.6 2 door did. I must say that it's a heckload more comfortable inside & I absolutely love it for everyday driving.
I was shocked with the heavy fuel consumption on it though ... almost 10l/100km (A/C on) in town, but when i took it on the open road in the transvaal/freestate it was sitting on 6.4l/100km with A/C on.
yeah the Corsa C 1.8 Gsi is actually just a rebored 1.6 Gsi Engine, but the power increase was barely noticable. coupled with allmost 300KG more weight, and you can see why its not that nippy. BUt yeah it's a very comfy car.
Yup, I was a bit miffed about that.
Even my mom's old 1.6 GSE seems to sit more comfortably at top end speeds. Now THAT is an amazing engine. Done over 300,000km and it's still running 100s. Ofcourse, you need to replace rings every 5kms after you buy an opel :p
EDIT: ye, my old one was 75kW, the new one 79kW. Plus with the added weight, it's rather sluggish compared to just about every other hatch. But I'm not a fan of speed so it's fine. Just wish the consumption for town driving wasn't so harsh.
yeah dude those cars just go and go and go and go
Dude you can buy a set of StS racing bucket seats for around R4000.
Probably the best seats I have ever owned.Sold them not to long ago to a guy on the dtm forum.
I agree with maplassie byuing cheap would be a stupid idea.
