Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan X – price and performance
We take a look at just how powerful the GTX Titan X really is
Not a bad price, all things considered.
Yeah, I thought the price was going to be something insane like the Titan Z. However, it is still more expensive than AMD's 295X2 and performs worse, but the AMD card draws almost twice as much power doing so.
So perhaps they money you save on buying the cheaper card you will have to spend on buying a bigger PSU :D
The 295X2 draws 540W or something ridiculous when the card is under full load. The Titan does not exceed 247W.
Tom's Hardware has a review up as well if you want some more in depth information.
The price vs performance is not in favour of the Titan X, so if you only consider those 2 factors the AMD card wins. The Titan uses much less power though and it is a lot smaller than the 295X2.
Well my mate bought himself 3x Titans which were around 17k each, so frankly I think this is on par if not better priced and a better card. For heavens sake he still can't play at max res with 3x 27" monitors in 3D as they still suffer. Hope these will perform better, as they should.
According to Google's calculator:
R12 340.55
Not sure if before or after tax.
That is probably without import tax
If anyone is looking at getting a Titan X I would say...Just wait a bit... the R9 390X will be faster and less expensive.
The performance of the Titan X is fantastic but the price is daft, $1000 for a card that'll be beaten by a card coming in at $850 in around 2 months from now.
